The Boom mini webcam was easy to set up and use. Finally I’m in focus for work virtual meetings using Zoom, MS Teams and Google Meet. This webcam delivers great picture quality. I definitely recommend this product.

I use a Mac and initially bought a Logitech 4K pro for my work from home setup. Big mistake. The webcam keeps crashing, needing to be restarted. In contrast, the Boom Mini has been rock solid, has excellent quality, and was super easy to set up. Recommending this to all my friends who use macs. I honestly don’t know why people recommend Logitech, they are soooo buggy on Mac!

Honestly not sure why this costs so much more than most webcams on Amazon right now - there were no features that I couldn't get out of my previous webcam that was a fraction of the price. Like most modern webcams, it's an easy plug and play option. It is much larger and bulkier than similar type webcam and not as convenient to mount. Unimpressive video quality for price - seems washed out and too bright and both my laptop camera and cheap webcam had a wider angle than this one did. The camera on my Microsoft Surface tablet had a more crisp image too. There was no way that I could figure out how to adjust these settings to get things less washed out or to widen the angle, so that was frustrating considering how much this thing costs. Microphone is fine, about on par with my built in laptop mic though - nothing extraordinary. Focus is fine, but I'm using this for meetings with colleagues, so 90% of the time I'm sitting in the same spot and the camera doesn't need to refocus a million times, it does do a pretty good job if there are two people in the field of view, but at that point you have to sit right next to each other to fit into the angle of the camera's scope anyway.

Bottom Line: This is a high-end webcam at a great price. Quality is outstanding. I couldn't be happier. Tested on Skype, Microsoft Teams, and Zoho Meetings so far. Longer Version: I was recently tasked with doing video interviews with some of our clients at work. I wanted things to come out professional-looking, so I picked up a new webcam, webcam light, and specialty microphone. I also wasn't sure what platform I'd be using/ recording on, so some of my testing with this webcam was more because I was seeing which platform was best for my purpose. I had also recently been tasked with comparing webcams for someone, so although I'm very much a novice, I literally had a spreadsheet going with specs of various webcams around $200 (mostly Logitech) for someone else before I chose this one for me. It ticked off all the same boxes as the expensive ones despite being much more affordable. I did struggle a bit to get the webcam up and running. I was expecting it to override my native webcam app in Windows 10 and it didn't. It wasn't until I contacted their support and asked for help that I realized it only kicked on when you're in a video app other than the base Windows one. Consider this a public service announcement, you do not want your first intro to this camera to be when you're sitting in your pajamas without adequate coffee and there's a support representative on the other end. That's probably the only time the clarity of this camera is a bad thing. lol Thankfully, the rep was awesome and, not only did he not give me a hard time for not figuring out the camera on my own or mock my jammies, but he walked me through a bunch of settings instead. Seriously awesome service, so thank you! As you can see by the pics, the video quality is night and day compared to my native camera and my iPhone. It rivals the $200+ versions my coworkers bought too. It also does a great job with focusing. My other ones had the tendency to go fuzzy or distort. I've seen others that tend to jump around to follow a person too. This doesn't do any of that. It just stays clear while you're moving. The other oddity I noticed was that I was struggling with my new light. No matter what I did with it, it was insanely bright and washed me out. I thought it was a crappy light and was all set to write a bad review. Nope. It's that THIS camera is that good. The light I got does wonders when I'm using the native camera on my laptop, but this camera works so well that no additional lighting was needed. The mic is also excellent. It's not quite as good as the independent one I picked up, but that was also an unnecessary purchase. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this webcam. I think it's great for general web conferences and the quality is enough that it'll work if you're doing videos for YouTube or whatever.

I've never loved using a external webcam, however I needed something new for my new home office setup. I bought the Boom Mini and I loved how super simple it was to set up. - Just plug in via USB and you're up and running. The video quality is super high and wide, so my work calls feel much more professional. My coworkers say that both the audio & video are super clear and much better than the built-in camera on my laptop. It can be clipped on top of your monitor or laptop or mounted. I would highly recommend!
