My son built me a high end desktop computer for father's day years ago. We keep upgrading it and adding on as the technology and memory demands change. My regular hard drive with moving parts was one of the last things to change. It was still working but it was bound to fail sooner or later. We got this and installed. I've had it for about 3 months now and no issues at all. I hope it will last for years to come. I run Windows on a solid state 500 GB and everything goes on this. It has plenty of room on it and it won't break your budget.

I replaced a regular 256GB SSD with this NVMe 1TB SSD. Upgrading is super easy - insert the drive, install the Acronis software from WD, clone your drive, adjust your boot up drives in your BIOS if needed, and you are off to the races (almost literally). What's the catch? Only one. What generation is your Motherboard? Mine is a Gen3 so the speed is capped at 3.5 GB/s, instead of the Gen4 of 7GB/s. This is not a deal breaker in the slightest. This drive is future-proof, and with WD's reputation this drive will outlast my current system.

Works great, great brand. no brainer

I have a couple of these SN850X drives in 1TB and 2TB. The drives perform extremely well and work with issue. They also have DRAM, so less risk of performance issues when the drives become full. Firmware updates are also easy using WD's Dashboard software. The only issue is that the drive runs hot, but that's to be expected for most NVMe drives. Make sure you apply a thermal pad or thermal pad and heatsink to keep the temps down. I docked a star because of the high temperatures, but that would be the same with any other manufacturer's drive.
