Ubiquiti Networks UAP-FlexHD in/Outdoor 4x4 MU-Mimo

once it works its great. the ubiquiti management software is among the worst ive seen in my entire life for anything. Having to install it on a PC and not being able to run it on the managed switch is insane to me and always will be. The dreammachine is the only UI product that runs the software natively and despite its price and UI it does less than my old Asus Router. That info leads into the adoption process. In order to use this AP your UI software must adopt it. And this process will drive you bonkers. You click a button "adopt" and it attempts and then fails. It will fail 99% of the time. No reason, just fails. After about 25 attempts to adopt and factory reset the AP it will finally recognize it... until you save the settings on the AP the first time. Then it goes back into "adoption failed". But not just that, it also claims to already be adopted so you can't adopt it despite it trying. Hence the factory reset. This isnt a defective unit though, I had the same hair pulling BS on the other two APs bought months before. Its just the Ubiquiti way. If I could go back I'd avoid Ubiquiti at all costs just because of this but yea. As I write this this AP is still siting on my rack in a failed adopted state. After two days I had to get back to real life and wait til I had time to waste on it again. Once it works... it works well. Til then.. good luck.

Great design, mounting kit included, performs really well. I am getting 600Mbit/sec 60 feet from the access point outdoors. If. you are doing a pole mount be careful with choice of Network cable - cannot be too thick and too big of a RJ45 connector / neck will stop it from fitting in.

Ubiquiti makes some quality products. Top notch performance and quality. I have 8 of theses running in my network systems. As my other access points wear out/burn up I will be replacing them ubiquiti products.

These are commercial grade and really are good

This is my second flexHD AP, I also have 2 AC-Lite's. It works flawless as expected and I like that it allows you to dim the status light as well as change its colour.
