Just connect it between your network source and device using Cat5/5e/6/6a/8 cables and ground it with the included wire. Note: Surge protection is unidirectional e.g. from source to device or device to source. Two B110-SP-10G surge protectors, connected in a series, are required to protect both the source and the connected device. YOUR LAST DEFENSE AGAINST INTRUDING VOLTAGE SPIKES: Solid-state silicon-avalanche diode technology features low clamping voltage, providing superior protection against ESD and super-fast response time under one nanosecond. Gas discharge modules on all four twisted pairs protect each wire from surges or spikes by dissipating the voltage transient through a contained plasma gas.
