Easy to use and setup, keyboard soft keys are useful but triple tapping control instead of scroll lock like their other devices is annoying. Works with programmable keyboards and mouse.. but the mouse needs to be put in the front USB3 socket to work. Running my monitor at 3440 x 1440 on FreeSync through HDMI without issue. Just need to pay attention to what inputs are used on the monitor.

the HDMI switching portion of this unit works well, but the USB 3.0 hub is super glitchy. i have a Logitech unify receiver on a hub that I had to plug directly into the KVM before it would work. even then, I have occasional hiccups where the unit will screw up and I'll end up typing lots of the same characccccccccccter. see? that. it's stupid. not good for gaming and I wouldn't trust it for file transfers to a thumb drive. fine for USB capture of USB 2.0 devices. you can forget about 3.0, however. it's terrible. don't even try. the mouse will freeze.

I was hesitant to purchase this based off some of the remarks mentioned as negatives in the reviews, but went ahead with the purchase because of brand reputation in the workplace. I needed this to switch between a corporate laptop running Windows 10 and a Gigabyte BRIX running Ubuntu 20 on it. I was concerned about security policy on the laptop not playing nice with the KVM. No issues. I've experienced no challenges running it in Linux either. I have not experienced the behavior of desktop disappearing or being redrawn. The product does appear to be doing desktop emulation as there's 2 behaviors I'm no so crazy about. They fall under the "slight annoyance" category. 1) If you move your cursor to the far right of the screen, it auto switches to the other KVM input (this is by design as is mentioned in the product manual). For some, this might be welcomed. I prefer to have the ability to turn features like that off (since I don't use or like them). The other oddity is that if you move your cursor to the bottom of the screen or top, then it appears opposite of where it was .... i.e. scroll to the far bottom, if you keep going to the edge the cursor will appear at the top of the screen (and vice versa). This is by no means a deal breaker, but worth noting. Aside from those 2 issues (which I deduct 1 star for), the product feels extremely well made, comes in at a good price point, and there's an online warranty registration for the product that gets you 3 years of coverage.

When you switch inputs, it disappears from the system, so Windows rearranges all your programs, then rearranges them again when you switch back. Otherwise it works fine.

So, yes, this KVM works quite will with my single monitor @ 4k 60hz. I have two systems feeding into it. The problem I had is, it emulates the keyboard and mouse, so, the multimedia features of keyboards and wireless mice will not function with it for me. I am using Logitech 502 Lightspeed with the powerplay mat and transmitter. It would recognize it, yes, and worked, but none of the extra functions of the mouse would operate. The solution was to run the keyboard and mouse through a USB 3 hub attached to the KVM. Works like a charm. Switching takes a second or two. Be aware, if you do not use the dedicated keyboard and mouse ports, you cannot use the hotkeys or mouse movements to change inputs. They will not work. What is helpful, however, is the unit comes with a handy IR remote, and an IR extender should you want to hide the unit under a desk. Perfect solution that would otherwise cost significantly more in other brands.
