We installed this 240W power supply and if it not connected to the Trendnet switch, it has no problem with power. If you then wire it to the switch, while power supply still has power, still have no issues with power. Keep in mind this is with switch populated with (3) POE low wattage cameras. Here is the issue......Unplug the power to the power supply and plug it back in......As if a power outage. The power supply cannot handle the startup requirements of the switch......with and without ANYTHING plugged into it. The switch goes into a constant reboot. There is no way that a 10port POE switch cannot be ran off a 240W power supply. So I think their is a design issue with this power supply and In-Rush current of bootup of switch is not supported.

Bought two of these to power some PLC equipment. the are nice and compact. Pro: This power supply works and holds the voltage constant and the set point. (48 VDC) Con: At only 25% load the bench it does double duty as a hot plate. It consistently stayed above 52C (125F)

We installed this Trendnet SDR-240-48 power supply together with a Trendnet TI-PG102 POE switch in an outdoor box to boost the signal to IP cameras that were roughly 500 feet from our main equipment. This steel box is in located next to a light pole in a parking lot in Las Vegas, in full sun, and survived it's first 115+ degree summer with no issues. It's been running fine for 9 months now and has not needed a reboot or anything. Fingers crossed it will survive several years!
