It's a nice enclousre, even with a esata port

The drive enclosure was just as I expected. I installed it within minutes of receipt and have found it to work reliably.

So far I’m very happy. It is well built and sold by a brand name company. I’ve bought the non-brand name stuff before and always had issues so I’ve started just buying better stuff. My work buys a lot of their stuff and swears by it. This company is Canadian (London Ontario) which is even better. Put a WD 1tb drive in and have been using it with a Mac as a backup drive. Couldn’t be happier.

Bought this after having to return an external hard drive for a poorly made loose USB port, and deciding to just make my own external with higher quality casing. I like the snap lock design, came with a nice pad to cover 7mm drives with and keep snug in the case. I would reckon a 9.5mm drive would fit just fine without the pad, would be snug and the padding has a slight give. The material all feels high quality, the padding on the inside seems thick and foamy with a “grabby” texture to it, I feel like my drive is very secure. The rubbery bumpers bulk up the size a bit and are much more elastic than they look in photos, lint magnets but very easy to put on and take off. Soft velvety texture that feels durable. The UASP support is an awesome feature. My only gripe is the seal tab on the docking port. The port itself seems in good shape, no dreaded wiggle or give to it when plugged in, but the little tab that pulls back sort of covers the port and has to be pulled put of the way to plug in. Then when you let go theres a bit of tension on the side of the plug and no space inbetween. I dont plan on taking this outside of my room and needing the waterproofing, so I might just take off the cover to keep any tension from being on the plug and keep connection integrity at its best. If this cover tab was seated even a milimeter or two over this drive would be five stars, but risking tension on the plug is a bit of a hang up for me since port connection seems to be the first thing to go with externals and enclosures. But other than that minor detail this thing is a beast. Everything in there is packed snug, if I lightly shake theres nothing moving around inside. Love it. Have a feeling this will last me a long time but I’ll edit if I encounter any issues.
