Failed after 2 years

After 2 years of great use this device is failing. My monitor constantly flickers and now it goes fuzzy/staticky sometimes. I have taken immaculate care of this adapter. However, after 2 years, the build quality has given in.

This is the ONLY Dual-Link DVI that I found that WORKS on Apple 30" Cinema

I bought a small pile of these types of Dual-Link DVI active adapters to make my Apple 30" Cinema display work on a modern laptop. OTHERS failed with (1) blank screen or (2) limit of 800x600 resolution...... THIS is the ONLY one that worked with the Apple monitor out of the pile of them I tried: My solution that worked: Dell XPS 9700/9710 > Dell Thunderbolt Dock > regular Displayport out > regular to Mini DP adapter > This mini DP to active Dual-Link DVI adapter. I get the full 2560x1600 resolution in Windows now on the Apple Cinema Display 30" with this product, but NOT on any of the others I tried.

Nice quality product

Firstly let me say the product appears to be of good quality and does convert Display Port to Dual-link DVI well. I was able to run my monitor at 1920 x 1080 at 120 HZ refresh rate. The reason I purchased this product was in the hope that I could use it for Nvidia 3D vision. My plan was to connect to the display port of my RTX2060 as it has no DVI port, and try and obtain 3D vision through my ASUS VG278 monitor. You need to use no later than 425.31 Nvidia driver. Whilst the video worked well, the inbuilt emitter on the monitor would never come on. I ended up installing an old GTX660 alongside of the RTX2060 and use the DVI on that card for 3D vision, which now works well. I still have the HDMI connected to the same monitor for the RTX 2060. I have kept the adaptor even though it did not do what I wanted because I still think it might be handy to have.

Needs extra steps on a MAC

Monitor is a Dell 3007wfp. Computer is a Macbook Pro 15" Retina (mid-2012) When I first plugged it in, it did not display the max resolution of 2560X1600. Only showed the standard. Frustrated, I went searching for a solution. The reviews are about 50/50. Thinking it was the cable, I ordered a new DVI-D cable and was going to call it a night. But on a whim, decided to check the manufacturer's website and the support page for the product where I found the instructions shown in the screen shot. Copied below: How do I select a video resolution of 2560x1600 on my Mac? Ensure you are using a DVI-D Dual-Link Cable between the Video Adapter and the Display Device. Open Display Preferences. Select the Display Device that is connected to the Video Adapter. Hold the Option key on the Apple keyboard (Alt key for a PC keyboard) and click Scaled. This will reveal a list of video resolutions. Select 2560x1600. Worked like a charm! Hope this helps someone with a Mac.

Works for adding third monitor for 2013 Mac Pro Trashcan

Since the Apple version of this was discontinued for some reason, I tried this out to see if it would work, and it does! To clarify, I have 2 DVI monitors and a LED TV connected via the HDMI port. With passive DVI, you can only use 2 monitors (the HDMI counts as one), so if you want more than 2 you'll have to get one of these. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because sometimes when waking the display, it'll have trouble and sometimes even give a static screen. Unplugging/replugging fixes this right away, but it can get annoying. 9/10 times it works as it should, and since this is the only option I saw available, it'll do!
