7年使ったサンワサプライのDVI-USB切替機が壊れたので、この製品に買い換えました。 サンワサプライの切替機は、小さい筐体の背面にギッチギチにコネクタが配置されていたので、コンパクトな反面ケーブルの脱着は大変でしたが、この製品はすこし余裕があって配線しやすいです。 タイトルの通り、KVMケーブルは別売りですがDVI/USB/オーディオいずれも汎用コネクタのため、市販のケーブルをそのまま流用可能です。専用品じゃない分ケーブル類が煩雑になりそうではありますが、長さ等好きなケーブルを選べるのは利点でもあります。(ちなみに当方はサンワサプライのものに付属のケーブルをそのまま流用しました) デュアルDVIに対応するためか、箱ティッシュほどのサイズがあることと、前面にUSBコネクタがないのが惜しいですが、価格を考えれば十分な値打ちがあると思います。

StarTech products seem to be hit and miss as far as quality goes and this one is definitely a miss. My first one was replaced by Amazon because it just died one day for no apparent reason. The second one lasted longer, but then one day one of the channels just stopped working - the USB element of it is no longer recognised by the PC, although the monitor switching still works. Fine if you don't mind unplugging your mouse and keyboard every time you switch computers but that rather defeats the object. Recently another channel failed in the same way so I'm now down to two - hence the one star review. If you want a KVM switch that is going to last, it's probably best to avoid buying one of these.

So after a few trials and errors...I finally found a switch that would work with Dual Screen support for 2 Mac laptops and a Mac Mini. I wanted to be able to hook all three up with the ability to do dual screens on all three. This was a bit of a task and I had to use more cables than I wanted but it works great with this Switch. I ended up having to use multiple ports on each laptop. I used the following setup: MacBook Pro - HDMI Port to 1 HDMI to DVI Cable + Display Port (Thunderbolt) with adapter to HDMI to 1 HDMI to DVI Cable MacBook Air - Display Port (Thunderbolt) with adapter to HDMI to 1 HDMI to DVI Cable + USB to Display adapter to 1 HDMI to DVI Cable MacMini - HDMI Port to 1 HDMI to DVI Cable + Display Port (Thunderbolt) with adapter to HDMI to 1 HDMI to DVI Cable This allows for me to run dual screens on all 3 computers with one keyboard and mouse with the switch in the middle. I tried to use a single source switch before this but because Mac OS doesn't support what's called MST for monitors...It didn't work right and I had to go with this more expensive one. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because for some reason, every once in awhile...it just randomly beeps and resets itself, to which in turn shuts down the monitors and I have to re-click the button to get my screens back. No idea why that happens but other than that, it works great! The other thing is for the mouse and keyboard wires...you need to buy USB 2.0 A-Male to B-Male cables (aka Printer cables)...The USB 3.0 A to B will not work with this switch. Solid all Metal Case, Powered and Easy to Setup and Use...

I am using this with a Thinkpad with W7, a Mac Pro with El Capitan and two monitors. While things work basically Windows 7 is a bid stupid and doesn't recognize one monitor properly (it does without the KVM switch), and sometimes after a lot of switching the Mac loses the USB input and has to be rebooted (no mouse,no keyboard, what can you do?). So, there are some issues, but I think these are not issues with the switch itself, but with the OS/HW attached to it. Still, not a perfect solution because of that and therefore not full marks.

Das Gerät verfügt über die Funktionen, die bei mir gebraucht werden. Deshalb habe ich es ausgesucht. Es verrichtet seinen Dienst jedoch leider nicht störungsfrei. Immer wieder kommt es sporadisch zu Ausfällen eines Bildschirms, stets derselbe. Ich habe bereits das zweite Gerät, der Fehler tritt identisch auf wie beim ersten. Dank an Amazon für den problemlosen Tausch. Allerdings müsste hier der Hersteller nachbessern. Dadurch werden 2 Punkte eingebüßt. Davon abgesehen ist das Gerät dennoch empfehlenswert, deshalb immerhin 3 Punkte.
