The right kit, could be longer, loose connection means I had to send back

I have a GPU with 6 mini-DP outputs to drive 6 screens. However, in order to actually drive all 6 screens, you have to use "active" cables. These are exactly what I need for that GPU card. Wish they could be had in slightly longer lengths as 6 feet isn't quite enough, forcing me to locate the PC behind the screens instead of somewhere off to one side however there are extension cables available for those screens furthest from the PC. Anyway, had a new screen so needed another cable bit the one delivered was unreliable and kept dropping out of service. Tested with the others which were all good. Sent back dodgy cable and received full refund. Will order another after payday (these are expensive).

Does the job but recieving blue flickering pixel artifacts..............

I bought one of these to run my monitor 24" benq XL2411 at 1080p at 144hz. It ran these settings no problem as it is an active adapter. I would have rated it a 5 but i am receiving blue flickering pixels that seem to follow certain colours around on my monitor during use of all applications and video games / pictures, its very distracting and i am unable to cope with these artifacts on my screen, so i contacted support had a long troubleshooting phone call. (phone support was top notch). We troubleshooted my monitor, graphics card, duel dvi wire, and this adapter itself, it seemed as though the only way i could get rid of the pixels is to revert back to using hdmi to hdmi and to put this adapter aside. I then ordered a replacement which was easy through amazons system. I thought i may have gotten a faulty adapter. The new one gave me the exact same artifacts on my screen. It seems as though there is a compatibility issue between my laptops graphics card "geforce 980m", my benq XL2411, and this adapter. returned both adapters. Hope this helps someone.

Worked perfectly

I ordered a couple of these guys http://www.amazon.com/QNIX-QX2710-Evolution-LED-Monitor/dp/B00BUI44US a couple of months ago (from newegg). There is only one Dual Link DVI D connector and no others. My card is a Sapphire Radeon 6950 which only has one Dual Link DVI D connector. It has 2 mini DisplayPort connectors. 99% of the articles out there insisted I needed the $60 - $100 "Active" adapters to go from mini-DisplayPort to DualLink DVI D. Before spending that much I wanted to see if anything else worked. I tried some adapters that were lying around the office and one or two from Radio Shack (that I returned). Most of them "faked" the Dual Link DVI D (or I) side by accepting the connection but not actually using all of the pins. I think they do this so they can work with the widest range of DVI cables and most monitors don't "require" them all to be used. So they can get away with calling them Dual Link DVI D. Needless to say NOTHING worked. Then I stumbled across an article that mentioned these guys. With doubt and trepidation, especially because of the other negative reviews here, I bought them and was pleasantly surprised that they worked! Note that one of the reviewers also said it worked, but complained of charging more because they call it "active". Well they sure as heck don't charge as much as the other active adapters which the cheapest I could find was $60 with bad reviews. Another reviewer said his two machines couldn't output 2560x1600 to his 30" Dell, but he doesn't mention if either his computers or his monitor is supposed to support it. I'm not sure how to trust a review that simply says "Didn't Work. Failed immediately". Anyway, with my configuration this worked great. Note that I only have two of these monitors and not 3 of them. It is said in other forums that I would need the active adapter to do three as well. I am tempted to try this cable first if I do buy a 3rd monitor as my current configuration was also not supposed to work without them.

At low resoloution it works fine - very impressive but the mini Display Port adapter ...

Very dissapointed. My example works without any electrical reliability issues as reported by others, BUT it does not meet it stated specification. I purchased this item specifically to play the upcoming game "Elite : Dangerous" (I signed up to the Kickstarter campaign as a Beta backer). My plan was to use the three 1920 x 1080 monitors with my Radeon 6950 card using Eyefinity, with 1 DisplayPort and 2 DVI connections. At low resoloution it works fine - very impressive but the mini Display Port adapter cannot handle 1920 x 1080. When used at this resoloution the system halts, black screen then tries again etc. - completely unusable in the game. My first thoughts were if the graphics card was up to the job? A bit of research seemed to indicate that it should be so I looked into it further - obviously a long story that I wont bore you with. I found that when I set up a single monitor at 1920 x 1080, plugged in with a DVI cable, video worked just fine, change the connection to Displayport using the StarTech adapter and the game runs for a few seconds, and video is lost, comes back etc. - same behaviour as before. I have concluded that the Displayport adapter is not up to the job at 1920 x 1080 and as such does not meet its specification. If you run non graphics intensive software under eyefinity then it appears to work very nicely, Run graphics intensive games and it does not work. I cannot recommend this item for any kind of graphics intensive use.

Good product and works as expected

I wanted a dual-link DVI adapter to link my macbook air 2013 and my QNIX QX2710. I received this adapter, it was working for 5min and then I needed to wait to replugged it to make it work 5min more. I don't know what was the problem since I tested it with another cable and another computer, so I asked for refund and bought a new one. I correctly attached the cable on the new one and it worked great. Take care to correctly plug the cable! I got some snow maybe once or twice on 5 times when my mac goes to sleep and I awake it (just need to unplug the usb cable and replug it). I'll actually keep the DVI dual link Apple adapter instead of this one because of the usb port added with the adapter.
