Very nifty little item that worked fine and was easy to load with a drive sitting idle that now supports as backup storage. Extra cool it supports both very old drives and newer SATA drives ! Love tools that provide options.

すでに同社の3.5インチHDD用外付けケースを使っています。ファンがないアルミ製の筐体はHDDの放熱をケースに伝える構造のため、夏場でも安心です。今回バックアップのため2.5インチSSDを追加したので、同様のアルミ製のケースを購入しました。いままでのプラスチック製よりもしっかりした重みがあり、こらなら暑い時季を乗りきれそうです。残念な点は、ケースの前面左したに白く光小さなアクセスランプがあるのですが、青色のほうがわかりやすくて良かった思います。

Robust-feeling little enclosure, the external case is all aluminium and just as big as it needs to be. The power light is white, and is nice and small. The position of the LED suggests that the lid is intended to be the base, so if you use a low-profile HDD it will move a little and rest on the lid, but that doesn't seem to affect the performance. I've had it running for two weeks now without error, and it doesn't feel too warm. The included screws are almost essential to keep the case closed. StarTech.com provides detailed data sheets on their website, which is a great idea but the only one I looked at was inaccurate. (I was interested in the region of manufacture - the online certificate said Taiwan, the stickers say "Made in China". Not hugely surprising as multiple locations are the norm these days.) That isn't Amazon's fault, just something to be aware of if you want the minute details.

Read carefuly before buying. No storage capacity, this is a casing for your harddrive. You plug your SSD disk inside this boxe and a USB cable is provided to make the link with your computer. The Windows' plug-&-play function recognizes the casing instantly, so you can read your SSD disk externally. This is very useful. I have many SSD that I can continue to use as backup disk. Do not forget to remove the metal frame on your SSD disk, because you won't be able to close the casing. I recommend this product.
