I already have one desk mounted monitor but wanted to have a second monitor for my desk set up. This mount is working well for my 22 inch screen. It was easy to set up on my table and easy to attach my monitor. Because my table is somewhat thin I have a 1" wooden piece against the table and then the mount sandwiches both the table and the wood. I find this works best for stability and also protects the table finish. The movement is smooth and it is staying at the height I want.

I installed this monitor mount for the sake of keeping the monitor at eye level per good ergonomics. At home I use a tall monitor stand, here at the office I wanted to try something different to free up desk space. The install was definitely more complicated then it should have been. The Sceptre monitor built in stand has a bracket that must be removed by disassembling the outer monitor case. It was doable in the end but definitely more complicated and time consuming than I expected. I am still trying to find the exact right position/ adjustments but it seems to work well. Definitely gets the monitor up to eye level.

I was concerned that another reviewer said this didn't hold up a heavy monitor. It certainly does — see my photo. You need to adjust the tension screw, but IT TURNS OPPOSITE FROM WHAT YOU EXPECT. Turn it COUNTER-clockwise to tighten. That said, this holds my big ol' 29" monitor without a problem. The stand requires some assembly; it took me about 20 minutes. Read the instructions, for sure, to make sure you tighten what needs tightening. Pros: Holds a big monitor, easy to adjust tension, easy to tilt and turn. My fave: The desk clamp takes up NO space behind the desk, i.e., you can still have your desk against the wall, because the mechanism is underneath. Also, the mounting plate also allows you to mount it on a wall, but you'll need your own screws (and stud finder). Cons: the plate that clamps it to the desk is metal, no padding. If you want to avoid scratching your desk, you'll want to insert a bit of cloth or rubber before clamping. I wish the clamp could be tightened with a knob rather than requiring the (included) hex wrench. Minor nit. Bottom line: Works perfectly, does its job.

This mount doesn't even support the weight of a 12 inch monitor correctly. It will support it at it's highest position/locked out but, when you try to lower it slightly it comes crashing onto the desk. So hard it would break the monitor or hurt someone. I tried adjusting the tension and it still does not work correctly. Do not buy this product.
