Philips Hue lights are on the expensive side and the exterior lights all seem to be on the dim side. Negatives aside, the light fixtures look very high end and install very simply. It is very easy to add them to the Hue app, and in over six months of use, I’ve never experienced any issues with any of my Hue exterior lights. In addition, you are able to add them to your Google Home app and perform some limited functions through that app as well. While they do look very pretty, I took a star off for the lack of brightness. Even at pure white with 100% brightness, they are probably still the dimmest exterior lights I’ve ever seen. When you switch it to color mode, it get significantly more dim, especially with deeper colors. If you don’t need a ton of light or have other lighting that will supplement these, the light it casts on the building looks phenomenal and you won’t find a light that’s easier to install. If this will be your only source of light, you better bring a flashlight or pick something else. Recommended with caveat.

Would be better if could be made brighter. Nice accent color, though. And no motion detection.

This whole line is amazing. We've had the outdoor lights for a couple of months and they have held up great. A perfect addition to all of our other Hue products.

I am a huge fan of Philips Hue lights and this one is incredible! I installed it fairly quickly and the instructions were very helpful. I love that the light comes out of the bottom and top and that it can be changed to LOTS of different colors through the app. You will need the Philips Hue bridge in order to change the colors, but I love I can set the colors to come on at anytime during or operate it right from my phone. The only thing I kinda dislike is the colors brightness. We just had a standard porch light with a Philips Hue bulb and it was super bright, but this looks a thousand better! We even noticed our neighbor bought two of them. Overall this is a fantastic light!

The media could not be loaded. Under the lightest rain, these lights will allow water to seep in at the top of the unit, down through the electronics and puddle at the bottom. There is NO weather proofing here of any kind. Last year I purchased 5 units, and all 5 became flooded at the same entry point. I liked the lights and they were easy to install, but they cannot hold up to the lightest of weather. If you install these outside, the only way they will last is to ensure that they are protected from any/all elements somehow, which for me completely defeated the purpose of having an outdoor light.
