Absolutely poor, poor design. The new 3 swing out brackets did not work like it was supposed to for 5-6” canister. I had to Jerry Rig the 3 recessed lighting with springs. The inventor of this Philips Hue Recessed down light definitely had their lightbulb blown. Shame on Philips for this design. You need to work on an easier way to install. Because it just doesn’t ‘pop’ right in. Several complaints about this same exact issue all over the internet.

I am a Phillips Hue guy for sure, I have like 40 of their bulbs throughout the house, the full color variety, and have been using them for years without any issues. When I moved into this house, a few of the fixtures were LED panels and not bulbs, so it kind of threw me a curve at first. The only difficult part of this installation was that my existing holes in the ceiling were only three or four inches wide, so I had to get past the fear of cutting into my ceiling to make a 6 inch hole :-) Beyond that, it was a cinch, this light has a Nifty little connection box that is really as physically plug and play As It Gets. I was surprised at the brightness, because these are a bit brighter than you would expect Lumen wise compared to their rating versus other Hue bulbs, but I sure ain't complaining. These are the slim fit cans, so they don't require much space above the ceiling, but do make sure you make the hole clean so that it fits nicely without any unnecessary movement or visible gaps, because this thing has little brackets that grab on to the rim of the ceiling opening, like a drowning dude trying to climb to the top of a Alaskan fishing hole he's been thrown into because he witnessed a murder. And the main thing is that you have the Philips Hue quality, it's worth spending a few extra bucks to have the thing that everybody else tries to copy. You'll be happy you did in the long run like any investment. Oak Creek System broke up pooping Devastation and destruction. I'm leaving that last sentence just because it's funny, that was Google listening to the TV and misinterpreting what it heard LOL.

While I love the lights they are a bit expensive. They hooked right up to my Hue hub and the colors are amazing as well as the responsiveness.

There's not much to say, the best smart lights in the market, the most expensive, all downlights should be slim as these, installation was very easy.

I'm already rather invested in the whole Phillips Hue system with bulbs and a hub, so got 8 of these drop lights to replace old, decrepit ones in a mid-century house and they are terrific. Easy, easy install, pairing and setup. Yeah, expensive, but hopefully the quality and support is there for many years from this well-established company.
