If you're in the Philips Hue ecosystem and have a backyard or patio, this light will serve you really well! It could certainly be used indoors, as well, but it's designed for outdoors and elements. We've had a different type of Hue bulbs, and this one complemented them really nicely. Adding it to the Hue app and configuring it was very simple. Hue lights shine (no pun intended) when it comes to simplicity of the setup. The base is weighted, which adds good stability to the light. Colors are awesome as in all Hue bulbs. Overall, we're very happy with this new addition to our backyard. Highly recommended!

Ordered this: Philips Hue Impress Outdoor Pedestal Light (Low-volt), (400 x 100†mm) - to go into a tiny home build we are doing this spring. My review is based on an inspection of the product and my experience with the brand as an electrician. Let me just start by saying I have installed and used a ton of lighting products over the years and can say without reservation that Phillips hue products are top of the line. They are professionally branded, have great support, ALWAYS UL listed and are constructed with top of the line materials. I have installed the hue strip lights in doctors offices with great results. Also their programming and integration on the app/home automation is far better and more professional than the competition. The drawback? The premium nature of the product demands a premium price point. You can get the job done with cheaper products... in my sons room yeah I ran off brand strip lights, diffuser and cheap generic controller. It works for a teenager, but for a high end home the ease of use and quality... from the control to the COB LED's being individually visible it doesn't compare to what Phillips hue can do. If you can afford it and want top of the line integration, quality and support this is the best choice on the market. The pedestal light, produces a seamless range of color and does require a proprietary power supply connector. You can get them from third parties but why would you do that if you are springing for a item at this price point. You do need a hue bridge to leverage all the smart features and automation with other devices. Any electrician/builder/AV guy lucky enough to be installing this product will be stoked, and so will you as a homeowner when you see how easy and customizable the product is. Finally I know some reviewers on vine have a reputation for writing 'changed my life' reviews on suspect products. I write a lot of poor reviews when a product does not live up to the listing details. These products are like buying a luxury car, is the value there for everyone no... but for those in the market for the best automated whole home LED products Phillips Hue is what I would recommend. I consider myself quite lucky to have been given the opportunity to review one.

I really like the light but the price is very high to not come with a power supply. I would at least expect an option to get one included or at least a link to one that I can buy. I also have to take some points away for the title asking a question about the bridge... Yes, you need a bridge and the person that made this listing should know that. Having said that, all of the Philips Hue lights are very easy to add and the quality is very good. You get great colors with their lights. It is easy to control the brightness and functionality of the lights from the app. It does come with the extension cable and a 'T' connector for the power. I recommend this light and will probably get more to complete the look I want.

This is an outstanding light. If you know anything about Philips Hue, you know two things: It's expensive. It's wonderful. There are so many lights on the market that claim to offer lots of colors and easily adjustable settings. I've tried lots of cheaper lights and all are really quite inferior to anything from Hue. This outdoor pedestal light is low voltage, so you have to buy a 24 volt power supply. You don't get one with the light. But once you're plugged in, the light is ridiculously easy to add to your Hue system. I use a Hue bridge and control all my Hue lights via my iPhone. This pedestal will be great outside, especially for Halloween: We program our indoor Hue lights via a 3rd party thunder and lightning app. It looks great from outside, but we really needed a light that's part of the same system outside near our door. This works perfectly for that. The light is really quite bright at 100%. But you can set this as dim as you want, even just with a faint glow if desired. The adjustability of Hue lights are really quite amazing. There's really nothing on the market like them. Pricey, but great. Highly recommended.
