The Overland Tandberg LTO Ultrium Universal Cleaning Cartridge 434185 will clean all LTO Ultrium drives and library tape drives. The Overland Tandberg LTO Ultrium Drive Cleaning Tape will clean LTO1 or LTO Ultrium 1 drives; LTO2 or LTO Ultrium 2 drives; LTO3 or LTO Ultrium 3 drives; LTO4 or LTO Ultrium 4 drives; LTO5 or LTO Ultrium 5 drives, LTO6 or LTO Ultrium 6 drives; LTO7 or LTO Ultrium 7 drives; LTO8 LTO Ultrium 8 drives and LTO9 or LTO Ultrium 9 drives. The Overland Tandberg LTO cleaning cartridge achieves 15-50 cleans which is dependent on the drive and the level of cleaning required each time it is used as sometimes the drive's problems caused a 2nd clean to occur. The drive cleaning process takes around 30 seconds. The Overland Tandberg LTO Ultrium cleaning tape cleans the heads which writes and reads the data, as well as other parts in the tape path of the drive. This cleaning process improves the performance of the drive, and the quality and amount of the data backed up to the tape. As tape drives get older and out of spec, or the tapes get older they require more cleaning and this cartridge gives a lesser number of cleans due to the extra cleans required.
