OtterBox Universe Series Case for iPhone 12/12 Pro - Black (Non-Retail/Ships in Polybag)

Super nice case. Protective and keeps the phone safe.

I ordered this for my nieces phone- she is 12. The case is nice and seems durable, but there is no bottom to the case, so if you drop it the whole bottom of the phone is exposed. Given my nieces age and the high probability that she was going to drop her phone non-stop I wanted to get something that protected the phone completely. So I returned this case for something that covered the phone in its entirety.

I almost always use Otter cases for my iPhones because they are such high quality and they last a long time. This one is a weird design. The bottom of the phone is not protected at all which concerns me because I drop my phone a lot. The slot on the back was created so certain accessories can be slid onto the phone but I will not be using those so it doesn't serve me. I should have read the description closer, my bad. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because the case is slippery as well. There is some rubberized grip on the sides but not nearly enough to keep the phone from slipping out of my hands. The case fits tightly to the phone as it should but with no bottom it's more difficult to remove the case as you can only grab the corners rather than the whole bottom. I would not buy this case again but I'll use it for now until I find something better. Not a knock on Otter quality but this is just a weird design meant for a specific user.

I had ordered this case for my new work phone, which is an iPhone 12. I had ordered this case because it was by Otterbox, which is a brand that I have used many times before. The construction of this case is a one piece case that wraps the phone with this military grade style of protection. It is a one piece case, so it takes some work to get the case on, but it will take a beating once inside. You will still need to get a screen protector to actually protect the screen, because its not part of this case. The wireless charging will work through this case, but it will not mag lock to a charger through this case. This works well for my work phone, but without the mag lock function, its probably not my favorite case. I hope that this is helpful.

I'd really like to use an OtterBox case for my new iPhone, but I am clumsy and know I need a cover for the front, too. I'm hoping I can someday order an unbreakable cover for the front that's compatible with this OtterBox. I don't keep up with tech stuff, so I had no clue when I bought my iPhone 12 in July that the iPhone 14 would come out in September and push my iPhone 12 toward old age already. The case I got is exactly as shown in the listing picture, and it works very well on the back of my phone, but it offers no protection for the front. Because of the OtterBox reputation, I've always wanted one of their cases, so I ordered this one with no plans to use it until I can find a compatible front cover. This is an excellent product, as is everything from OtterBox, but I ordered it knowing full well that it didn't come with any protection for the front of my phone, and I'm a klutz so the phone is going to need that. I'm keeping the Otterbox case that goes on the back on my desk until I can find a compatible front cover. I have no complaints about the case I ordered. I knew it didn't have a front case when I ordered it. But, with the advent of the iPhone 14, I decided now would be a good time to buy it an OtterBox and wait and see if we can find a compatible cover for the front. This is everything an OtterBox is supposed to be, fits the phone very well, and is obviously very sturdy and would offer good protection -- for the back. Eventually I'll find it a front, and we'll all live happily ever after. The OtterBox cover is an excellent product.
