These cases are great for your teenager's phones, but this one is VERY hard to actually get on and into place, I had to use a small flathead screwdriver to help or I never would have gotten it in place.

I have been using Otter-box defender cases since the my first iPhone which was the 3GS. They are tried and true for preventing accidental damage to your phone. The only time I’ve damaged my phone over the years is when I didn’t have my otter-box defender case on. The trade off for this cases extreme ruggedness is that it is bulky. For some people it’s not a worthwhile trade off but I’ve seen too many people constantly get their phones broken because they were using a thin fashionable case when they accidentally dropped them. For me personally the bulkiness of the case isn’t an issue. I enjoy the peace of mind knowing that when I accidentally drop my phone that it’s not going break. Additionally, the cost can be a bit much for some people but I think it’s a good investment considering the cost of phones theses days and it’s also still cheaper than the cost to repair a damaged phone. The MagSafe functionality is great because I can still use a wireless charger and my MagSafe wallet with this case. Lastly otterbox does stand by their products. Once in the past I had an issue with a case of theirs that didn’t hold up as expected and after submitting a warranty claim and supporting images they replaced the case. Dislikes: The rubber dust cover over the charging port is flimsily connected and broke off after about 6 months. Older models of this case did have a built in plastic screen protector which I’m glad they did stop using because it would get micro abrasions over time and become very hazy. However, I do feel like that this case should now come with a tempered glass screen protector included but it does not so you’ll have to buy that separately. TLDR: Very sturdy case that protects against accidental drops but the charging port dust cover broke off after a while, it’s kinda pricey and this doesn’t come with a screen protector. However it’s a quality product from a company that stands by their products with a good warranty. I would recommend this product to family and friends.
