quick and easy install, my only issue was my case fans were a 3 prong plug and the motherboard had 4 prongs and the instructions didn't mention that it would still work. great product overall

I wish there was a 3.5 star rating. The motherboard is nice overall but there are some caveats to consider. DDR5 RAM compatibility issues: According to its spec, anything 5600Mhz is overclocking so you need to be careful in that territory. 12th gen CPU “officially” supports up to DDR5 4800Mhz and 13th gen 5600Mhz. So it probably makes more sense to pair it with a 14th gen CPU and play with overclocking if you are into it. However, for 12th and 13th gen CPUs, you’d probably be stuck with 4800Mhz or 5600Mhz, otherwise you’ll have stability issues. Btw, you can manually set RAM in BIOS. For me, I have an i9 12900kf and a pair of crucial pro 6000mhz sticks, which I can get them to work in 4800mhz, I tried 5200mhz and it looked fine but not 5600mhz, given that 5200mhz is just a tad bit faster than 4800 at the price of stability, I settled with 4800, which is the lowest setting this mb supports. Another thing about RAM is that with 4 sticks, it supports at most 5600mhz so no OC at that end. Not sure how practical it is to provide 4 RAM slots. In most use cases, a 2-slot lower spec chipset would probably suffice. Latest BIOS instability issue: Mine came with a BIOS dated around 2013-05, which works fine. I flashed it with the latest version (as of Q1 2024) and it won’t boot up for some reason (couldn’t detect RAM according to the onboard LED). So I flashed it back. You can do this by using an onboard button a dedicated usb port, just be sure to read its instructions VERY carefully (I really like this feature, it gives so much fault tolerance on BIOS flashing). Maybe too many SATA ports in practice? It supports 6 SATA ports. However, it’s kinda hard to find a case nowadays that can hold 6 SATA disks. Most can hold two 3.5” HDDs or four 2.5” SSDs. And I personally think this is probably an overkill to work with that many SATA devices. WIFI 6e is NOT available in Windows 10, it’s a Win 11 ONLY feature (shrug) so that’s another 200 bucks for a new Win 11 if you want wifi 6e. HTH

Great MB, as with any MB these days, minimal instructions, so one has to know generally what you're doing. There are 4 M.2 slots. Three with rotating "latches" a fourth with no post nor screw. The third latch (see picture) has a problem. In order to have clearance to fully rotate to the "open" position (where the SSD card's notch is to be held in position), the "handle" of the latch runs into a neighboring component such that the range of motion is constrained. It cannot rotate enough to clear the latch. So you have to unscrew and re-screw the entire rotating latch. I'm re-using this third latch in the fourth SSD slot (where there was none), and just using a screw and post (not included)... where this problem prevents the latch from being used anyway. To my eye, the fan connections are ambiguous, and i cannot find a clear chart anywhere for conflicts btwn M.2 SATA slots, and the six SATA female sockets. I've read if you use M.2, it supersedes using the corresponding socket.

BIOS Try it! function can create a lot of issues...Don't Try it! Compatibility list on MSI website is not easy to decipher, so do your research. Fan speed control in BIOS could be better, but was able to get adequate noise mitigation with software. Tech support was able to determine RAM incompatibility within one day of reaching out. There are a lot of users out there for this board so it helps figuring out issues.
