Purchased in 2018. Update 2023: I used to be quite fond of Ubiquity products, but unfortunately, I've encountered some persistent issues with their equipment. Initially, I purchased the original Unifi Gateway, a 24-port switch, and 2 AP Pros to kickstart my network. Later on, I decided to swap the switch for the POE version, which turned out to be a bit noisy. After about a year, the gateway suddenly stopped working, prompting me to purchase a replacement without much hassle. However, things took a further downturn when the POE on one side of the switch (specifically the left 12 ports) failed, although the ports themselves still functioned properly. While it wasn't a major setback since I only needed to power my two APs at the time, I had initially intended to power cameras in the future. As if that wasn't enough, the Gen2 Cloud Key, which I added to my setup with a rack mount, also stopped working and refused to turn on after about a year of use. This series of disappointments made me seriously reconsider my loyalty to Ubiquity. While I was initially drawn to the concept and setup of their equipment, I can no longer justify investing in equipment that failed after only a year of home use. So, I decided to switch things up and installed a new TP-Link router, bidding farewell to the AP Pros. To my amazement, my entire network's speed and stability skyrocketed. Whether it was laptops, desktops, IoT devices, or the approximately 28 devices in total, everything performed flawlessly. Even my baby monitors and streaming equipment, which used to suffer from glitches, disconnections, and buffering (even with wired devices), now operate without a hitch. I'm not sure if this is like comparing a Corvette to a bulldozer, where both serve their purpose and a bulldozer probably costs a lot more. However for my specific needs, I personally prefer the Corvette. I'll take ownership of maybe my settings were not perfect, but the hardware issues is on Ubiquity. Throughout my Ubiquity journey, I followed Willie Howle on YouTube, diligently kept my firmware up to date, monitored channel interference, and experimented with AP handoffs, learning valuable lessons along the way. However, based on my recent experience, I have come to the conclusion that Ubiquiti may not be the best fit for my home network. I've found a more suitable solution that has provided me with a significant improvement in performance, and I couldn't be happier.

Great switch so far, but the original fans are noisy !

I have just moved over to the Ubiquiti Unify hardware, purchasing a Dream Machine and a 24 port POE switch. Apart from the learning curve on my part, all are great and appear to be very good value for money if looking for more features. One important recommendation if you are considering buying this switch is to purchase two of the Noctua fans I have linked below, and the 3/16 drill bit to make the mounting holes slightly larger. Fans: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B071J8CZP9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Drill bit: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00PM4TRVM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 After replacing the fans, the switch is very close to silent and not the constant noise that made me look into acoustic rack cabinets, which are at least ten times the price of the two fans and drill bit. Look in YouTube for videos of how to swap, but it is very easy and all done in under 20 minutes. One note: You will need to remove a sticker on the back to remove a screw which no doubt voids the warrant, but that was a price I was prepared to pay to reduce the noise and save some room by not needing to purchase a cabinet for my office.

Works solid, configures easily

A lot of people have difficulty setting up Ubiquiti hardware but if you have a reliable controller Ubiquiti is easy to setup. I have over 100 of these guys all over the place. We use it to power VoIP phones and it pumps the wattage consistently and has not failed.

Uplink is 1G only + noisy fan

Uplink is only 1G for 24 ports!!! Not sure what they were thinking, fan is noisy as hell too even when most ports are idle and poe is not used.. You have to get the 48 ports to have 10gbit uplink, if I had known this in advance I would not have bought this product

Fonctionne parfaitement mais l'on doit souvent mettre à jour le micrologiciel de l'appareil manuellement pour que celui-ci puisse se connecter à un système à jour.
