CAUTION: Not Compatible with USB Type C Laptops

I ordered this product for a newer model Dell laptop which was powered with the USB Type C connection. In the About This Item section of the listing was the statement: "Thunderbolt 3 USB C (up to 87W power delivery)". The price and delivery date were attractive, so I made the purchase. When the item arrived, I unboxed it and connected my monitors and laptop to the docking station, but the laptop wouldn't recognize the monitors. I did a Google search and consulted the VisionTek information, downloaded and installed drivers, all with no luck. I came to the conclusion that the product was defective, so I boxed everything up to send it back. During that process, I looked at the outside of the box and discovered that the words "Not Compatible with USB Type C Devices" were clearly printed on it. I'm frustrated with the fact that the same information was not supplied in the Amazon listing. I'm a relatively tech savvy person, but I don't stay consistently up to date on new technologies unless it's necessary, so I was unaware there was a difference between Thunderbolt 3 connections and the USB Type C. I found the wording in the listing misleading an unhelpful. I don't believe the seller was trying to deceive anyone, but their inclusion of the "USB C" in the description led to a frustrating miscommunication on their part. I was able to return the device without issue, so I'm satisfied with the seller's response, but have some reservations about ordering from them again.

Disappointed

Was hoping for a good hub solution however the first laptop didn’t even detect it, and the second only output to one screen with no Lan connection working. As with other reviews, it’s hit and miss with these.

Insufficient power output, not for all laptop.

My laptop requires 130 watt. Unfortunately, this one does not provide that.

USB didnt work, other ports fine

this item looks cool but i wasted a day trying to get the HDMI and USB to work together. it never did. USB drives never work, they jump on and off for like a second to not work again. went with their Tech support through everything and each time i had to send an email wait an hour or so and then try what they suggested that didnt work again an email and wait. the chat wasnt working i had to wait 48hrs for my first answer

It just work. No drivers, no excessive packaging or accessories

This just works. One of the lower priced Thunderbolt 3 docks with all the video output ports you need. It's stable. No nonsense, it just works. plain and simple with what it claims to do on the package. I would recommend it.
