I use this to hook my iPhone to ethernet for faster downloading of larger files to our network. Works great - super fast. Great to have if your wireless signal is inconsistent or poor quality, assuming you have an ethernet port to use.

Bought this adapter to provide iPhones and iPads a network connection in the event the pin was forgotten and the device had been restarted. The way iOS is set up iDevices won't connect to no known wireless signals until the device has been unlocked by pin after boot up. This is due to keychain not being unlocked until then. I manage iDevices for a company and with this adapter it provides the device a network connection so we can unlock the device through mobile management. I was surprised to discover that it allows the iDevice to also charge from a POE switch. Also confirmed that with this dongle connected to the device and a network connection you can still connect through a lightning cable to a computer.

Very happy with this adaptor which can connect my iPhone to the internet reliably via an Ethernet cable without WiFi. Some people said that iMessage doesn't work with this connection, but it actually does. I think it receives iMessages when your plugged in with this adapter+Ethernet. However, if you want to send an iMessage, you'll have to turn OFF all the following: Airplane mode, Cellular Data, WiFi and Bluetooth. The settings will look like what's in the photo. (This device does not connect for cellular calls or SMS with non-iPhones. Hope APPLE will enable those two capabilities... PLEASE).

Working great so far with my iPhone and iPad. I had bought a cheaper version of this and it lasted only a few weeks. I disabled the WiFi in my house to reduce my EMF exposure. I like that I can recharge my phone while browsing the internet at high speed without WiFi. The only downside is the short cable to connect to the device. I tried using an extension but was getting connections failures. Not sure if it is my extension itself or a signal degradation due to the longer cable. Overall, I am pleased with the product.
