defective, as was the replacement

This is my third kinesis keyboard, in this model. The first two were -- and are -- flawless, even after years of use. I love love love them, which is why I bought another. This latest one is defective, however. When you type certain words quickly, it drops a letter. For example, if you type "deploy" quickly, it renders as "deloy" (drops the "p"). This is consistent across laptops that I've plugged it into, both with and without USB hubs. I send the keyboard back to kinesis -- at my expense, because they insisted -- and received a refurbished keyboard in return. The refurbished keyboard has the EXACT same issue. I'm not sure if they've changed their components or firmware or what, but there appears to be a consistent flaw with this keyboard model now. I'm about to embark on yet-another exchange. If it works out, and the (second) replacement works, I'll amend my rating. Until then, this is a 1-star keyboard, and I'm done doing business with this company. -- UPDATE 2024-03-01 -- Got contacted by their support folks, and they were very (very) helpful. I'm awaiting a new keyboard now, but things are definitely looking up. -- UPDATE 2024-03-25 -- The Kinesis customer support folks were top notch this time, in addressing my issues. I'm adjusting my one-star review to a four-star review, as a result. I still give the Kinesis Freestyle 2 a low rating since it apparently (now) has an issue that causes it to drop keys when you type quickly, as evidenced by it happening with two different keyboards of a recent vintage. Kinesis did right by me, however, and upgraded me to a different keyboard at no cost to me, and that upgraded keyboard works correctly. So to recap: the Kinesis Freestyle 2 now has issues, depending on how quickly you type (older models didn't have this problem). Customer support is excellent, however, and made me a believer in this company again.

Feels so good!

this keyboard is so comfortable for me. I am 59 and back at work again on a keyboard. This keyboard has three levels of comfort and I position it to my needs depending on my arthritis that day. The 9 inch spread is great to keep my back straight . Love it!

Came without tenting attachment

It arrived quickly but didn't have the tenting attachment as advertised so I now have to return it. I ordered another hoping it will actually come with the tenting attachment. It arrives Tuesday. Meanwhile, I'm unable to work at all until it arrives due to a broken wrist. So I hope 2nd one works.

Ergonomic and good enough

I just wish the Fn key was actionnable only when you press it instead of toggle. Took some getting used to when I would accidentally toggle it. Other than that seems quite okay. I Placed mouse in between the two keyboard parts to minimize pain due to my rotator cuff injury. Looks a bit like it was industrial designed for a 90's for a Silicon Graphics workstation, but those esthetics seem to be making a comeback.

Pretty happy with it

I came from Microsoft Sculpt first gen. The numpad stopped working really early so I am used to not having a numpad. This keyboard was $120 or something when it first came out. Most keyboards that are kind of mechanical costs more. The Logitech ergo keyboard is $150. So I think this one is priced okay relatively I think although not wireless. This keyboard does have the function key Num Lock like most laptops do. That works okay if you really need one. The lift doesn't click into position so if you move the keyboard around, the lift collapses. Keyboards don't generally get moved around that much so I can put up with it. Took me very little time to adapt to it.
