This mobo really gave me a lot of headaches from the time I first built my PC until roughly two months after setting it all up. The POST screen froze, and sometimes it would boot into Windows without visuals, the PC couldn't sleep, it would just reboot. The first Windows installation was dead within 48 hours after the first time I upgraded the BIOS. But thankfully, BIOS update 1636 saved the day and made my motherboard fully functional. Turns out my RAM must've had some kind of support issues and the BIOS update had just what the doctor needed. Otherwise, this motherboard has been pretty great. But this will likely be my last ASUS motherboard — too much headache and a nightmare to start off with. It really isn't the hardware, it's the firmware and software ASUS is doing that is lessening the quality of the motherboards. But before you install Windows, be sure to have another PC nearby, a flash drive, and update the BIOS to 1636 if it isn't installed already. Use the marked BIOS port on the back of the motherboard on the shield plate to plug in the USB drive. I wish you good luck and success so that you don't run into as many headscratching nightmares as I did with this motherboard.

The board was missing the M.2 heat sink and heat sink screws. No screws for the m.2 itself (the little tiny ones, and no they weren’t already on the board). Missing the I/O cover plate. And missing a couple screws for what I’m guessing is a set of brackets for a cpu cooler (brackets were included). I’m sure the board would have worked overall, and would be fine for someone experienced in building pcs who may have some extra parts lying around. But for a first timer like myself, it’s better to just spend a little extra money on a brand new board that comes with no missing parts. Especially since buying all the missing parts basically negates any savings.

First off, I have purchased 8 of these so far and I am now purchasing 6 more for a build out a client needed. They work fine if you know anything at all about DDR5. You have to wait for the first boot for about 3 minutes on the first boot. News flash folks, you're going to get this problem on any new DDR5 board. It takes this long because the stupid memory timing system tries too hard to get tight timings out of the box instead of getting working timings and then allowing you to turn on EXPO. It isnt the board, but it is the lack of competent customer support.
