Love this crome book. The charge last a long time. No slowing down with anti-virus programs. Google has their own. Very handy. Love it.

Edit: The keyboard problems remain but after checking for a replacement... well, there's nothing comes close to this chromebook for the price and quality. So I won't be returning it but will wait & hope that Google comes up with better flip or 2 in 1 backlit keyboard design, then I'll replace it. This is the second Chromebook I've tried as I really like the OS; (the first a laptop a couple of years ago - returned as it was too big & too heavy), and I am going to have to return this one too. There's a ton of things I like about it: fast, super pic/resolution, bezel size, the accessibility options, extremely intuitive, the Google Assistant, excellent Chrome photo, audio & video editing tools, etc. So much thought put into the OS leaves me wondering why the keyboards seemingly didn't get the same attention. The floating/on screen keyboard is good in that it's moveable & resizable but why no question mark?! Doesn't matter what combo you use for input: US+UK, Can+US, Can+UK, or just Can, or UK, or US... no question mark option... that's baffling & very annoying - sure you can turn on the mike & speak it or flip the chromebook around so you can type it... not for me. And the manual keyboard is really problematic and, for me, just about unusable: the backlit keys (which are one of the necessary major selling points for me) barely show up at maximum brightness, will dim out to useless in an even moderately bright room/area and time out completely if you stop typing to think too long in its, the keyboard, opinion. The keyboard symbols are invisible unless the keyboard is at exactly the right angle when they can be faintly made out (as in, picking up the chromebook & holding it slightly above eye level (°.°) - light grey on silver was not the best idea Google! The tons of keyboard shortcuts, many essential, are only useable while NOT in tablet mode, so one has to learn or hunt through Support for those while using the manual keyboard plus the voice commands while in tablet mode... brain overload issue for me. I have wanted a flip or 2 in 1 chromebook for a good while and I'm very disappointed that this flip didn't work out for me. Time to put Chrome OS onto a quality tablet Google: the 'Chromelet'... *\0/*

I thought this would be a huge upgrade from my much cheaper Chromebook... In some ways it is, and in others it has been a surprising downgrade! I love the backlit keyboard! But as mentioned in another review, the characters on keyboard can be hard to see in lighter environments. Whether or not this is a hindrance will be a customer preference/need. The screen is much larger than my last chromebook and overall has a nice clear display, however, when playing any games on it I am getting flashing stripes across the screen. I assumed this was a manufacturer issue so when I contacted Amazon they issued a replacement order right away... Well guess what, the replacement has the same issue! Yikes. Did Amazon just get a bad batch?? *PS upon further investigation this is a KNOWN issue from the last model and apparently was not yet corrected! I am legit 0/2. The sound quality is horrible. Like really horrible. I am not trying to rock out over here, I am merely in an online classroom and the voices of the students and professor are coming through so tinny! Headphones are required or keep at 20% volume. The magnetic closure is ridiculous! I have never felt the need the keep a crowbar on hand to open my laptop before! That might be slightly exaggerated but still, wow! What kinda industrial strength magnets did Asus use?! Really am at a loss on whether or not to return this one as well and try a different model! ETA bumped my star rating from 2 to 3.. still having the same issue with the laptop but it hasn't gotten worse.. AND the accidental damage protection in the warranty has just made this purchase entirely worth it! I spilled coffee on my laptop recently, yikes! It was fried and wouldn't turn on.. sent in for repairs and it would have cost me more than the laptop did initially to fix! But with ADP in the first year, that coffee spill was covered in the warranty! I could not have afforded another laptop right now and I need it for school, so this has saved me! Thank you Asus!
