Let me start off with this: this laptop is good for just about anything you want to do. the fans are adaptive to what youre doing, whether thats office work, gaming, or anything inbetween, it does it well. the fans are silent if youre doing regular office work, like word or excel, or just some window shopping. but it gets a bit loud when playing games, like call of duty or fortnite, but thats something you cant get rid of with laptop gaming. the battery life is pretty good. i never found myself having to put it in charge because it was about to die, but i also only play heavy games when i have it plugged in. it lasts me a solid 4 hours when i bring it to school, working on documents, powerpoints and such. the keyboard isn't the worst thing in the world, but it's not the best. i like the layout of it and the custom functions they added, like a dedicated copilot button for all of your ai needs, different functions like manually turning up the fan to combat graphic-intensive games, a play and pause function, and your regular brightness and sound functions. the lighting on the keyboard is nice, but i don't like how it's only one color, which is like a sky blue. i do like that i can change the brightness of it however. the screen is a crisp 144hz 1080p ips display, and luckily its got a good enough graphics card that it can actually run 144fps on most games, which is something you dont often get with laptops. 1080p is just about all you need with a 15.6 inch display, because the screen is much smaller than your regular 24inch monitor. the ram is upgradable, but it already comes with 16gb of ddr4, which should be plenty for most games. i love that the chassy it's built on is almost entirely metal. it gives a nice matte finish and also keeps it cooler for longer. overall a really good laptop for the price, really happy with my purchase. only thing i would really change is the keyboard lighting. thats about it.

The laptop gets incredibly noisy, especially during gaming sessions. The fans seem to ramp up quickly, and the noise can be quite distracting, even if you're wearing headphones. Battery Life: The battery life is disappointing, especially if you're planning on gaming unplugged. With a full charge, I can only get through about two games of Valorant, with each game lasting around 35-40 minutes. This is much shorter than I expected, and it means you'll need to stay near a power outlet if you're gaming for any extended period. Heat Management: Another major downside is the heat. The laptop gets very hot during gameplay, to the point where it becomes uncomfortable to use on your lap. This also likely contributes to the noise level, as the fans are working overtime to try and cool it down. Overall: While the MSI Thin 15 B12UC-1480CA is capable of handling basic tasks and light gaming, the noise, poor battery life, and excessive heat make it less than ideal for extended gaming sessions.
