Monoprice Cat6 RJ-45 Toolless Keystone, Black (101039)

Easy to install.

Installed this on a shielded CAT6A wire and when I tested it I found it had the 1 wire shorted to the shielding. Upon further inspection after you punch down the 4 pairs of wires into the jack and cut the ends off there is nothing to prevent any of the cut ends from shorting to the metal casing of this jack. What I ended up doing after punching down the wires and cutting the extra off was wrapping it with a layer of electrical tape to prevent cut ends of the wires from shorting to the shielding of the metal jack that was connected to the drain wire.

Working well. Markings we're smaller than expected and closing the cap took quite a bit of force, but that could be related to the installers skill with aligning the wires. :-)

Don’t buy those, nothing about them is good. First, the width of the jacks isn’t standard. You won’t be able to put them side by side in a normal keystone patch panel. I had to skip slots (Which looks bad and makes cable management a nightmare) to make it work. Second, the method of termination is total BS. I cut myself several times while using my punch down tool on those jacks. Most quality jacks have the terminals at the back, and not at the bottom. Lastly, the identification for the wiring diagram is just a crappy sticker which is hard to read and that comes off too easily. Don’t buy those jacks. They are overpriced and will make you work harder.

These are more work than a regular jack and punchdown tool. I had to use parallel jaw pliers to seat the connections properly. Save yourself some aggravation and buy normal jacks.
