Monoprice 107128 3.5mm Mono Plug to 3.5mm Stereo Jack Adaptor, Gold Plated

Purchased this to use stereo headsets with my Yaesu 2 way mobile radio. I had a couple of issues. 1. The body of the plug is to big to fit into the recess around the radio jack. Solved by carving the plastic body down with a dremel tool. 2. I tried using a headset that had a microphone as well as speakers (for cell phone use). Got a lot of static on the headset. My guess is that the contacts inside the connector were hitting the microphone "ring" on the headset jack .vs. the speaker ring. Works OK on a headset without the microphone Once I carved the plastic down it worked well with a regular stereo headset.

Good product at good price

Yes, it does split the mono signal into stereo, but the sound quality is so degraded that you may as well be listening under water. Shouldn't be selling such a low quality product.

Using this on a handheld radio scanner. Splits the mono audio into both left and right channels on stereo headphones. Would definitely recommend.
