This is a functional desk mat and looks okay for certain uses. The problem is that is is waterproof and if you put a beverage on the mat you have a wet sticky ring in my case. I think the color was causing the stickiness. The hot coffee I drink heated up the mat and the sweat to make the pad sticky and it happened all the time. With common fabric /rubber mats the water gets absorbed and evaporates without the sticky mess. I just could not use this mat.
