I was pleasantly surprised to discover this device works out of the box. My OS is Linux Mint and I often have problems connecting to Windows oriented gadgets. I had no need to install software. I plugged it in and it booted at once, allowing me to back up all important files on an old hard drive. Happy I bought it.

Works flawlessly — excellent way to retrieve data from an old hard drive! Amazon — your driver left the package at the wrong address. You NEED to make it easier to report delivery issues like that. Fortunately, my neighbor is trustworthy but you need to make it easy to report ‘wrong delivery location’.

I don't know what this is for, but my brother wanted it for Christmas, he loves it and uses it frequently :)

Producto excelente, ya habia tenido conector de este tipo muy pero muy recomendado para el trabajo de campo al respaldar tu informacion o la de un cliente al reinstalar su sistema operativo

Worked ok for a backup but I was expecting a usb drive like I have from Western Digital or Seagate. The drive would appear ready to access in normal Window based access. Not a custom program.
