This computer ATX 3.0/3.1 power supply is intended for computer enthusiasts putting together their own machines (an increasingly popular pursuit). Not only does it have exceptional performance power (mine is the 750 Watt version, but models capable of providing as much as 1200 Watts are also available), but it's also beautifully made--and while mine is black, they're also available in white. And when I say black, I mean ALL black! The case, connectors, fan dust mesh (which attaches with magnets, and can be rotated to the desired position)...everything is black. And this is a "full modular" power supply, so there are no wires or cables hanging from it. Instead, a full set of cables are included, and you just plug in the ones that are appropriate for the computer being built--including motherboard cables, drive cables, PCI-E cables, high-end graphics card cables, etc., etc. And the cables (and their connectors) are all black, too! So--no multi-colored wires to make tracing them out easier (but when was the last time you needed to do that, anyway?). And since you only use whatever cables are needed for your build, there won't be a rat's nest of unnecessary cables dangling from your power supply. The result is a very "clean," professional, good-looking build--and that's a significant part of the appeal of this unit. Enthusiasts not only want a high-performance computer, but they want to be proud of the way it looks--even inside! Many computer cases now have clear plastic side panels, so their owners can show off the insides (which can also include colored lights and other attractive items). As the price suggests, this is a premium power supply--but for many enthusiasts, it will be very well worthwhile.

Lian Li makes some of the best products in the DIY PC market, and you can always count on their quality. This PSU works as expected without generating excessive heat, and the fan is barely audible when running. As for the L-shape design, it’s… different. Maybe it was made for a specific case in their lineup, but it didn’t really make my build any easier. I would have preferred the cables to be mounted in the opposite direction, pointing into the case rather than away from the components. That would have made more sense to me—I don’t quite get the design choice. Great product nonetheless, and I’m lucky I was able to score one!
