Kensington SlimBlade™ Pro Wireless Trackball, Rechargeable Battery, Bluetooth 2.4GHz Connection Options (K72080WW) Finger-Operated

I travel very often and have used Kensington trackballs for decades now, this is an outstanding trackball. I do kind of wish they'd kept the older style scroll ring, I'm getting used to this style but really did prefer the old style. Having three different connection methods has proven pretty handy as well.

The KensingtonWorks software is broken. I had it installed on my Windows 10 laptop and it worked the first time I opened the program. Any time I open the software after, it fatal errors and cannot be opened again. Here's the problem, when I tried to reinstall the software, THE INSTALLER FATAL ERRORS AS WELL. I've tried updated software and outdated versions of KensingtonWorks but no luck. Perhaps a future update or forum post will resolve my issue but for now, I'm stuck with the factory defaults. I've attached a picture of the fatal error from the installer. Although you can get by without the companion software, you cannot customize the buttons nor can you adjust the sensitivity or scroll inversion. This to me is a fatal problem with this device as the default buttons are not useful for me. Another annoying thing: the scroll action makes a non-mechanical clicking noise that cannot be turned off. I don't mind the noise but since I cannot turn it off, I can't use this device at my workplace because I don't want to subject other people to the noise which is loud. Just so it's clear, KensingtonWorks doesn't give you an option to turn off the noise. I've seen others who are also frustrated by this take apart their SlimBlade and either physically disconnect the electrical speaker that makes the noise, or placing some tape over the speaker. Taking the device apart is not trivial. Like most mice, to access the screws that need to be removed to access the internals requires you to remove the pads on the base of the device. Since those pads are stuck on with glue, once removed, they will never be the same as they were when new. Some say the noise is a signature part of the device, perhaps those people also think annoying others is a feature of this device. The device annoys me but unfortunately, I don't know of any alternative trackball mice that are wireless.

Llevaba desde principios de 2023 esperando a que saliera, ya que el mio con cable se me rompió, y me quise esperar hasta que saliera este modelo inalámbrico, y la verdad que es increible, y cero latencia. Llevo desde el 2017 trabajando con trackball y es genial, pero si que es verdad que tardas un tiempo en habituarte, pero como todo! Lo recomiendo 100%, recomiendo que cada 3 días o cada semana, sacar la bola y con el mismo dedo quitar los trozos de polvo que se ponen en los sensores, así siempre te funcionará bien. (En el manual de instrucciones) Si la bola después de unos meses os va un poco dura, es tan sencillo como sacarla, ponerla entre las manos y frotarla un poco, y con la propia grasa natural de las manos se lubrica
