Bright clear image with a long cord, that's the major thing to note about this webcam. The rest is just like every other cam nothing special here. The star off is simply because the value for price is not here. The company yoyos the price from 129$ down to sub 50$ often so if you happen to catch it at a low price it will be good value (like currently the 58$ price tag) but at the original 129$ it's just too expensive for what you get compared to cheaper alt brands.

My laptop's built-in webcam had two settings: blurry mess and slightly-less-blurry mess. I needed something that made me look reasonably professional for work calls without costing a fortune, and this camera seemed like a good pick. I have a J-Lab microphone that I love, so I thought I'd give this camera a try. The first thing I noticed was its solid feel. It's got some heft to it, and the mount clamped onto my monitor securely without any wobble. Setup was simple: I plugged the USB cable in, my computer recognized it instantly, and that was it. No weird software to install, no hoops to jump through. The video quality is a massive leap forward. The picture is crisp and clear, meaning my coworkers can now fully appreciate the bags under my eyes in glorious 2K resolution. The auto-focus is quick and doesn't hunt around when I shift in my chair. I don't use the built in microphone, so I'm honestly not sure how that performs. If you're still using the grainy webcam that came with your laptop for work meetings or family calls, this is a really good and affordable upgrade. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, and it does it well. Professional streamers might want something with more granular controls or higher frame rates, but for the everyday person who just wants to look clear and sound good, this is a perfect fit. For this price, the quality you get is excellent value.

My son is trying out this camera for school and so far he is really impressed! The packaging was very nice, it was carefully wrapped and the box was safety sealed. Set up was simple, my son had it up and running in no time. There are a couple things that we noticed right away that make this camera stand out. It comes with a second face plate - so the black can be traded for a white plate if it better matches your computer. We were very impressed by the way it can detect an object like a white board or a sheet of paper, which it then highlights and scans to show it up close for viewers. This is helpful for business meetings, zoom calls, or education. If you hold up a document, the camera will capture it and display it on the screen. While not a 4K camera, the image quality is good and just what my son needed for school. It clips on his laptop with the included clip. It doesn't have a whole lot of features when it comes to auto zoom and voice tracking, but for the price it is a nice basic plug and play webcam.

I was using an old DSLR camera for streaming and wanted something more compact that didn’t need any software to get working. When I saw this one, I decided to order it and give it a try. It works great as a basic camera for streaming and is perfect for general webcam use! The camera arrives in a small cardboard box with a sleeve over it. At the bottom of the box there are two pieces of tape and once you have those cut you can slide the sleeve off. Inside the box you get the webcam, the hard wired, braided USB-A cable, a different colored plate for the front of the webcam, and the quick start instructions. There’s a folding base with rubber pads that can either be squeezed onto something or screwed into a mount. The camera will rotate 360 degrees and has some tilt to it as well. If you want to change the fabric face plate from dark grey to light grey, they are magnetic so you can simply pull one off and put the other one on. The braided cord has decent length and getting the camera on just requires simply plugging it in. A blue light will come up on the face to show you the camera is live, but there won’t be any indicators when the camera is inactive (so don’t make the same mistake as me and think it's not working). The feed from the camera is nice and clear! The framerate is stable 30fps and I have no problems using it for streaming. Using touch buttons on the top of the camera you have varying levels of zoom as well as exposure. It auto focuses but stays really stable to the point where I don’t even notice it doing it. There’s also a built-in microphone that, while not high enough quality for streaming, is great for general webcam use! Overall, this is a really great webcam and I’m happy that I got it. I’ll definitely be using it as a basic camera for streaming and I love how small and convenient it is. If you’re looking for a solid, basic webcam that feels high quality, I definitely recommend this one!

I have been testing this camera out for about 3 weeks now and I am impressed with it. This camera is a replacement for another camera that I was using for meetings from home. My desktop PC is the computer that I use at home with a TV for a monitor. I need a way to conduct meetings from home. My old camera was not working well and I was in search for a replacement. I needed one with an extra long USB cable and one that would sit on top of my TV without causing damage to my TV. My old camera had to be glued to the back of my TV and as my TV heated up, the glue became sticky and tacky and eventually, the camera started to sag and would not stay in place. I decided on the Jlab brand because I have a pair of Jlab Bluetooth headphones that I also use for work and meetings and phone calls and the sound and features impressed me so I decided to try this web camera. The first thing I noticed was that the clamp for this camera holds the camera in place without the camera moving but does absolutely no harm to the TV or the screen. The next thing that my old camera could not do that the Jlab one can do is swivel. It can swivel from side to side and up to down. This helps when you are adding another person in to sit side by side with you on a meeting or you are trying to keep your two year old out of the background of a meeting... The next feature that I really like about this camera is that the cord is very long. I needed that as my PC is not next to my TV and I needed one with a longer cord. The LED light on the front of the camera is NOT blinding. It will light up but you can look directly at the camera and not see dots in your eyes for the rest of the day but it is adequate enough to light you up so everyone can see you. The sound from the microphone (from what I have been told) is just fine for meetings and that everyone could hear me just fine -- no issues. The camera comes with a different colored face plate that you can pop off to change out if it matches your decor. I have a black TV so I left the black one on. It is simple to use, I plugged it in, Windows recognized it and I was able to use it right away. In my opinion, the JLab Epic Cam USB HD Webcam is of great value for the money. It has a lot of features that other cameras do not. A lot of thinking went into designing this camera, especially, the damage free clamp so your TV does not get damaged. I would get this camera again.
