IOGEAR 3-port can't switch consistently between two computers

I have connected to IOGEAR 3-port a Dell laptop and a Dell desktop. I'm sharing a keyboard, mouse, and Logitech video camera. Randomly, the KVM stops switching between the two systems. It's very inconsistent. When it does, I have to reboot both computers for the KVM to reset. It occurs once or twice a day. In addition, a black screen that last 1-2 seconds gets displayed every 10-15 minutes. It doesn't interrupt the editing of the document or the videoconference, but it's very distracting and annoying. I do not recommend it. I have to dedicate way too much time to it.

Didn't meet my needs

I have a mac, and I didn't realize that the second monitor relies on display port daisy chaining which mac does not support, so I had to get a different kvm that has dual display ports with no daisy chaining. Other than that issue, this kvm is okay, just very expensive for what you get. I found an 8k two monitors four computers kvm here on amazon for a fraction of the cost. Keep looking, there are much better options.

Mac Studio M2 + MSI Gaming PC: Works but sub-optimally

What kind of KVM does it take to get a 2023 Mac Studio M2 Ultra and a Bog-standard gaming PC to properly share the afore mentioned Keyboard, Video (monitor), and Mouse _PROPERLY_??? Apparently not this IOGear KVM. To be fair (and to explain the 3 star rating) I have to say that at a basic level this KVM will work (though your mileage may vary). I can successfully share the K-V-&M between the two computers with the Mac connected via Thunderbolt 4/USB-C and the PC connected via DisplayPort and USB. This works with the caveat that the Mac is stuck at a refresh rate of 30hz -- so if you can live with that this should be a solution. I am not happy with my Mac Studio + LG 32UD99-W being stuck at 30hz. Not cool. Not acceptable. I can find no reason why this is the case. NOTE: The 30hz/60hz switch makes no difference for the Mac Studio. If I connect my 16" 2019 MacBook Pro I see the refresh rates I expect to see -- all of them. If I connect my Mac Studio directly to the display with a USB-C to DisplayPort cable I can select 30hz or 60hz refresh rate. On the plus side: The PC works fine -- video options are exactly what I expect to see. I'm not sure if this is a Mac Studio thing (again because it works as expected when connected directly to the LG display) or some odd limitation of the IOGear KVM or simply the combination of BOTH. I'm very frustrated with this. I'll probably be returning this KVM though I may take a run at Apple and IOGear tech support calls.

Freaks out on anything other than basic monitor tech

I searched far and wide for a KVM that would let me use my 3440x1440 ultrawide 180Hz gsync compatible monitor with my work laptop, my high-end gaming PC, and my daily-driver low-power-consumption PC. I thought I found it. I was wrong. Want to try 3440x1440 at high refresh? Sorry. Black screen. Want to try adaptive sync? Nope. Want to go any faster than 60Hz over USB C? Sorry. The design is straightforward and cables are decent quality. 45W of USB C power delivery is nice if you don't have a high-end laptop. (think Macbook Air) If you have a very basic laptop, two very basic PCs, and a very basic monitor, this would be useful. Given that people who run 3 systems on their desk rarely do "very basic" I would say this KVMP has limited use. It's a shame, too. With a little bit more tech under the hood, the design would be EXACTLY what I want.

Excellent KVM for 3 Computers, Win11 for best results

Upgraded from a 2 port DisplayPort KVM to this 3 port when I picked up another computer. I had a mixture of Win 10 and Win 11 machines, the Win 10 machines didn't like to remember window sizes and locations. Upgraded to Win 11 across the board and now everything is great. Monitor is a 34" 60Hz, no issues. Have my webcam plugged into it along with my logitech usb receiver, all functionality switches without issue. Computer #1 - USB-C Computer #2 - Display Port Computer #3 - USB-C + Startech USB-C to Display Port adapter (CDP2DP14UCPB) Only concern going forward is heat, it get's hot to the touch on the top. Will probably try to find an off the shelf heat sink that can sit on it and dissipate the heat.
