Google Nest Protect - Smoke Alarm - Smoke Detector and Carbon Monoxide Detector - Wired, White

My smoke alarm had to be replaced. I have seen and heard good things about the google nest thermostat so I decided to try out the smoke detector. The install was super easy and it looks great. I love the night light feature it has on it and the motion detection is also great which turns a light on. It can perform a test everyday if you let it but because I have an infant I have turned that feature off.

Works well as motion sensor for nest thermostat, plus acts as a nightlight! Have remote notification of events for my condo is awesome.

Works very well. I have two of them. Speak in French too. Very reliable. Tested for CO and works.

We invested in the standard fire alarms with the ten year batteries in them. We thought it was a great investment until they started going off for no reason in the middle of the night. Not the best way to wake up at 3 a.m. One by one, we were replacing them because they kept going off for no reason. Apparently, fire alarms are highly sensitive. You get some dust in there or a spider decides to take a midnight stroll over the alarm... not good. The alarm will go off. We tried cleaning them out with air cans to get rid of any dust and... no luck. So we tried an amazon nest. Guess when it goes off? Only when I cook. Yes, sorry... not the best chef here but at least I know WHY it's beeping and it gives me a polite warning beforehand. Much appreciated. Plus, I can push a button to have it silenced for thirty minutes while I finish preparing food that probably won't taste that great. We started with just one of these and have slowly invested in additional ones to replace the original alarms. WORTH EVERY PENNY and a good nights sleep :)
