I used this gently for 15 minutes and it stopped working. The quality is nothing like the last Fellowes that I bought 10 years ago. I rolled it back into the garage and studied the problem for a bit. After a few days of looking at it. I found that I must have over oiled it which made the cutter clog up the feed. Running it in reverse combined with stopping it and using a small screwdriver back and forth in the feed slot I was able to get it working again. It seems to be working fine now. But it is still not the quality of my old one.

Because I burnt up my last shredder by overuse, I've taken it pretty easy on this one and it's working fine. I just feed one sheet of paper at a time and haven't used it more than 15 minutes at a time. The instruction manual suggested using either a commercial shredder oil or a light cooking oil to lubricate it. I used canola oil, and I couldn't believe how much smoother and quieter it was.

I bought this thing to shred several years worth of bills and documents that are well behind their "shelf life", and I thought that this would be perfect tool. I looked at the reviews, read up on this, and then I bought it. Well... I have two shredders side. One that is $40 and several years old, and this $125 hot mess. I put an letter or envelope with a bill in it in both of them at the same time. If the paper happens to be too thick, the cheap one will stop and you can pull it out, pretty easy. However the new one, will literally start reverse chewing it until it blocks itself completely and you have to dig that mess out for 10 to 20 mins. I know, put too much in, it cannot handle it... but chew it up and clog itself so you can't use without a long drawn out digging the compacted paper now stuck in this thing? Even Brandon can spit it out better than this shredder - might not make any sense at all, but it comes out like a tossed word salad, unlike this Fellowes mess. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHREDDER AT ALL... Go buy a cheap one, any cheap one, I am sure it will do better than this over priced rolling paper gagger.

I liked how solid it was. It gives the impression that it will last for a while. I was looking for something to handle large shredding jobs and it does that quite well. It does need to be emptied out quite often but I also like the small size for storage.
