Like the blue power on light, seems to provide stable power for my FTW3 ULTRA 3080 and 10700k. Solid heavy, cables are nice and thick and inspire confidence. Wish it came with 3 x 6+2 pins instead of just 2 and 3 daisy chain ones they are harder to hide.

This and the last EVGA PSU I bought go kaput. This doesn't include the previous 980ti, 750w PSU, 650w PSU, and a 2070 from EVGA that went kaput just after the return period. The first was an 850w lemon that shorted itself on something inside. I could hear the arcing as soon as I plugged the thing in. This 1000w unit works until it doesn't feel like it anymore. I've troubleshooted until I can't. I got to the point where testing whether this unit is outputting the advertised wattage is required. I lack the equipment to test it. I know it can run until I'm finished with a demanding game, but then all power cuts out and it refuses to boot with my 2nd monitor connected. Kernel-power code 41. This was EVGA's last chance with my wallet. Once I get a replacement from Corsair, this is giving my money back! Also, it still runs when the system is powered down. All usb ports remain supplied. Maybe it's ASUS's fault, considering how slowly the mobo boots into BIOS. (A few minutes. Yes, the 00's standards were better.) At night, I have to switch it off. My room returns to normal cool AC temperature. It's a sauna otherwise. SURE IS ECO-FRIENDLY! 😑 Update: Switched off Eco mode on the back of the unit and it's stable. Guess I'll be keeping it as a spare once the other one comes in. I don't understand what the point of it is if it's doing more harm to the system by causing multiple kernel crashes, data loss, and potential hardware damage. Yes, it works like it should now, but the fact a poorly implemented feature is even available on the unit is more than enough to never recommend EVGA products in the future.

The media could not be loaded. Ive never had issues with EVGA but this time im disappointed. Something went wrong during the production of my unit because upon installing I installing started heaering weird high pitched chirping noises from the PSU. It was running smooth at first but now I can play a game under load because the PC will just randomly shutdown. I had to get a replacement and hopefully it isnt as busted as this one but I have no idea how this could just slip past inspection. Imagine it fried my other PC parts? Come on EVGA, what happened. update: After getting a replacement the PSU is working perfectly, no weird chirping noise or shutdowns. I think EVGA needs to use more testing in their factories to not let the broken PSU's slip out because the difference is crazy. My first P5 got super hot, made a chirping/squeaking noise, and made my PC shutdown under load and the second one is super silent, doesnt overheat, and no weird noise (just like my old EVGA psu). Overall a great quality PSU like always from EVGA but just got a broken one my first time. Update December 8th 2022: I have no idea what has happened with EVGA, they used to be such a god tier brand with amazing GPUs and PSUs. My first big PSU was from EVGA, a 1000W PSU that lasted me 8 years. Then I started getting shutdowns and kernal errors meaning the PSU was going bad. I replaced it with the 1000W P5 2022 model...first one that came in the mail was already broken. On boot the PSU made a horrible coil winding noise...no big problem as Amazon sent me a replacement instantly. I thought everything was fine with this new PSU as the crashing and kernals went away...well I was horribly wrong. About a week ago the Kernal Power Error and Shutdowns have returned!!!!! What's insane is other people also have mentioned this, I have not tried running ECO mode off yet but that's what people are saying is causing Kernal Crashing. It's insane because the EVGA PSU 1000W I had for 8 years always ran on Eco mode and never once had any issues over the 8 years of use. I dont understand what has changed in EVGA but the PSU quality has definetely gotten worse. I dont understand how you can cheap out on arguably the most important part in your computer. If something goes wrong with the PSU their is always the chance it can kill everything inside your computer. Im hoping the eco mode being turned off fixes this error, im just shocked what has happened to EVGA. Used to love with brand so much, now they've stopped making their amazing graphics cards and now the only thing they have left to their name (their long standing PSUs) is starting to dip in quality. It's not anything else in my PC as well (it's a new build ; 3080,5900x, MSI xpg gaming motherboard, 3200mhz 32gz of ram ~ yes I tested the ram to make sure it's not what's causing Kernal error). Im speechless to be honest.

Needed to replace my PSU of 12 years and this seemed like a good replacement. It comes in a sturdy box, with foam cushioning, and EVGA branded security tape so you can tell if it's been opened. Works fine and is not audible under the desk, even with the Eco Fan disabled. A nice little bonus is that it comes with power jumper, so you can test the power supply. I have a multi-meter and used it to confirm my old power supply was quite dead and the EVGA one had all the right volts.
