Ethernet Surge Protector

I brought this product to overcome the issues with ACT Fibernet, where my router gets damaged when there is rain. Build quality looks great. Speed was good, Does not throttle internet speed. The grounding wire was missing atleast for me. It would have been better if a wire along with a plug would have been available with product to connect it to earthing line.

Nachdem ein Blitzschlag meinen Router, Switche und Heizungssteuerung gekillt hat, war ich auf der Suche nach einer Möglichkeit zur Erdung. Meine Wohngebäude bzw. Hausrat hat zwar bezahlt, aber der Aufwand drumrum war eben nervig. Ich habe mein Netzwerk im Keller an der Gasleitung geerdet. Zusätzlich hängt die Heizung nun noch an einem Überspannungsschutz von Brennenstuhl. Ob das jetzt wirklich alles etwas bringt, kann ich nicht beurteilen. Der Blitzschlag war bisher der Einzige in 30 Jahren.

Installed this between the powerline ethernet and my router in a server rack. I just wish it came with an M5 bolt and nut. I improvised and with some effort I was able to use an M6 bolt and attach the surge protector to a ground lug inside the server rack.

Plugs in easily. No impact on ethernet performance. Of course, I won't know if it works as a surge suppressor unless I get hit with a surge. Would be nice if it included a short ethernet cord.
