A true savings. Last a long time. Note: when your Epson printer's low ink warning sign starts blinking wait until you actually can't print anything before you replace the cartridge. I've printed for more than a month after the signal starts blinking sometimes longer.

It's really nice to have a black only ink jet printer that has a long lasting black cartridge. This prints up to 2400 pages (at 5% coverage which is a page of double-spaced type). We had an inkjet before this in the same situation that was color and that gave us much less prints per cartridge. With these cartridges and the Epson WorkForce WF-M1030 printer we save a lot over our other options. While there are other inkjet printers that have 2400 page cartridges for less than $50, they're color inkjet. Even if you don't print the color you still get forced to change the color cartridges after a while (or your color printheads get ruined). There is an even worse problem--when the color thinks it's out of a color, it won't even print black! So only having to deal with one cartridge and not needing to buy color definitely makes it worth the fact that the cartridge is more expensive than some. And it's cheaper than some too. $50 divided by 2400 pages is two cents a page. There are no other consumables to buy so that's cheap. It looks like Epson isn't going to put out another inkjet, so I'm going to have to find another solution someday. But for now, I'm going to use this as long as I can!

This is the standard size cart. actually filled up. They sell another one that is only half full and the one you get with the printer is only 1/4 full. I haven't used it yet as I am still running on the half full one I bought. The ink is the profit center for Epson so it is like liquid gold. The good thing about this ink is that the prints are pretty water proof.
