So the description (under "About this item") is pretty clear about "Multiple Data Streams (2x2 MIMO)" being a feature of this, the DHP-601AV powerline kit. But it's not true. These adapters can only do SISO, which is an older, slower technology. I was surprised to learn that Amazon's return policy is, uhh, that there are NO returns. This product can only be replaced or refunded (if damaged or defective), and for that to happen you'll need to go through support. So be warned. As for my experience in getting these adapters to work, let me just say that it didn't take me long after the initial setup to see firsthand why powerline tech gets a bad rap. Guess I'm stuck with wifi.

Does the job, good speeds & a good solution to anyone unable to get an ethernet cable running. Cons: ~ The provided cables were a bit short ~ It gets pretty hot, not sure if thats of concern or not Pros: ~ Good speed, never had an issue with it being “too slow” ~ Insanely simple setup, no software or tinkering needed to be done, literally just plugged it in & it works great

The Ethernet cables provided in the box will not support 1000Mbs/1Gbs transfer speeds, but the actual adapter will. CAT5 can only support 100Mbs at best, and sometimes as low as 10Mbs. These really should have come with CAT5e cables or higher. The product team should have known better. Other than that - it works...but even on dedicated outlets in the same room, on CAT6 Cables, I was only able to get roughly 15% of the speed a direct connection would. I would be fine with a slight dip in performance, but an 85% decrease?! Come on. Amazon CSR told me this is a recurring issue, so don't waste your time like I did.

Very easy to install. A great solution for gaming within a large house. Make sure both devices are on the SAME electrical circuit in the building.

Comes with two ~3 ft LAN cables. No problems setting up. No instructions required. Worked on the first try. Increased WiFi download speed of ~70 Mpbs to LAN download speed of ~210 Mpbs (based on Google's speed test). * As far as I know, adaptors are on the same circuit (ie, signal does not pass through home panel board). * Modem to adaptor is 3ft LAN cable that came with Powerline. * Adaptor to computer is 6ft Cat5e LAN cable from DollarStore ($1.50CAD). Will update review with reliability once I've used it for a while.
