Em primeiro lugar, a pergunta número um que tive que fazer antes de comprar: "Preciso mesmo de uma placa de som em 2023?". E imediatamente depois de comprar esta placa , posso dizer que sim! Você literalmente não saberá o que está perdendo até conseguir uma!! Ao contrário das GPUs ou CPUs, as placas de som nunca ficam realmente obsoletas. Não adianta utilizar um fone fraco com uma placa dessas, principalmente fones com USB. A diferença em jogos é impressionante! Cada detalhe é captado de forma cristalina. Eu poderia entrar nos detalhes do componente, mas para resumir, eles têm 2 a 3 fases integradas para ajudar na gravação e na saída limpa. Sem mencionar nos recursos de software integrados para aumentar a qualidade. O Software Creative Labs tem um conjunto completo. Qualquer coisa que você possa imaginar está inserida nele, desde o equalizador até os filtros embutidos para microfone, predefinições, etc., mas também não é super técnico (muito fácil de usar) para que ele possa alimentar o hub e fornecer +48V ao seu fone de ouvido/microfone.

Sound quality is about the same as other soundblaster options. direct mode is the only way to max out the sound quality. Surround effect and customization in the software is really good. Ultimately, if you are in this price range there are better options if you want sound quality for more than just games. My Modi and Gilmore mk 2 combo sounds much better, but doesn't have the versatility.

This is overkill for most people but if you want the best internal sound card, this is it. Amazon doesn’t sell this directly, you’ll have to buy it from third party sellers. My recommendation is check Creative’s website from time and time and look at their B-Stock. You’ll save $100-$150.

The DAC was not as much as value added as I thought. In which case - go with the SE-7 if you want an external volume control plus a DAC. Maybe that will change in the future if I experiment with line-in for my musical instruments. But yes it sounds great.

I replaced a Sound BlasterX AE-5 for the Sound Blaster AE-9. I didn't think I'd hear a difference, the reason for getting the AE-9 was in order to plug in my Condenser Mic. I was wrong. When the volume is turned up to the maximum, my speakers are still silent. What I mean is, there is no static with the AE-9. It's a completely clean sound stage. You might not think this would make a difference for anything but it makes a big difference in games, specifically First Person Shooters. In BF 2042, I dominated today. I was killing people left, right, and center. Just hearing them coming up on me. I heard everything. This was without Scout Mode too. This sound card produces every sound possible from my Senheiser headphones. Highs and Lows. Every sound is heard. Truly the best sound card I have ever purchased and I've been purchasing these since the Sound Blaster 16 ISA cards in the early/mid 1990s. What ruined the unboxing experience was one thing though, what's with that dinky Optical Cable? Couldn't creative have added a nicer looking cable. Something braided? Not that it makes a difference just that it looks cheap for a product that really is not cheap. Best sound card, dinky Optical Cable. This knocks one star off Value for money for me.
