They will not reach the distance they say . On a clear day we could not have a clear conversation less than a half mile apart . That is not what they advertised. Waste of money and time.

I tried to save some money and get a cheaper brand and, of course, you get what you pay for. These radios are great! Compatible with most radios out there and the range is decent, depending on where you are. Great battery life and very clear sound. They’re also sturdy and a nice size.

Our 11 year old loves to ride to the park and riding with his buddies. We do NOT want to buy him a phone. That opens up a whole can of worms that we/he is not ready for. These little radios do a great job. I usually use the “call” button to get his attention and get him home. The battery life is excellent. They usually last a whole week or longer. Couple hours of use every day. The range is also excellent. One of his friends is a couple blocks away. As long as he’s not in their basement I can get ahold of him.

The plastic is pretty good because both my Son and I have dropped these things everywhere up in the mountains! I think I've probably dropped them in the creek a time or two as well. I gave 4 stars because while they have the charging contacts on the bottom, they cannot be used in a stand charger, and can only charge using the USB cable. The range is great, and the weather alert worked really well during Helene.
