I bought this unit to replace a 16-year-old switch with similar basic capabilities, so this new unit was very refreshing, and easy to move my existing infrastructure to (one-to-one mapping of switch ports). The Cisco way of doing things takes some getting used to, and there are a ton of configuration options, but once one gets used to that, it works well. Device has both a web and command-line interface (via SSH); the latter is required for some more esoteric configuration options, but 95% of users will never need to go there. Unit is VERY quiet. Because it is fanless, you will have to be mindful of where you install it, so that you don’t block the vent ports. The only drawback I’ve found so far is the limited on-wall mounting options. It doesn’t come with any brackets to assist in this, and the screw slider holes on the back make it obvious that the designers only envisioned it being mounted in one particular direction. I need it positioned in a different orientation on a plywood demarc board, and that wasn’t negotiable, so I needed to insert an extra wood screw after mounting it to make sure it couldn’t slide backward. For users who think this device is too expensive for a home switch, you may be right, but this is NOT a toy, it’s “prosumer” (pro-consumer) grade hardware, which Cisco markets as small business gear. It’s a really nice switch, and so far, I’m getting what I paid for.

When the product arrive the rack mount wings and hardware were missing. As we are rack mounting this hardware its no fun.

I just ordered 2 of these and both descriptions clearly say that mounting hardware was included. Neither box had mounting brackets. Just switch and power cord. Still need the mounting hardware!
