High-quality German engineering meets outstanding design - that's CHERRY. As early as 1953, production of the first microswitches began in the basement of a restaurant in Illinois. 20 years later, the first keyboards were built - making CHERRY the oldest manufacturer of computer keyboards. 1983 saw the start of production of the MX switches, which are now used billions of times in millions of keyboards around the globe. Decades of experience, passion and tradition make the brand with the cherry what it stands for today: quality products designed in Germany and aimed at all those who have high demands on performance, design, durability and functionality of their input devices. The CHERRY KC 200 MX is a reliable, mechanical office keyboard with molded keycaps, minimalist dimensions as well as an anodized metal plate. You can expect a product of high quality and aesthetics - without unnecessary frills. In addition, the KC 200 MX can boast four additional keys and tasteful white status LEDs. The original CHERRY MX2A switches provide a unique typing feel and absolute precision, which makes the mechanical keyboard attractive not only for frequent typists, but also for gamers and programmers - all at an unbeatable price-performance ratio.

Great keyboard - not silent/static electricity

Love the keyboard, great sound and great feedback. It's not as quiet as I had hoped, but then again I work in a nearly silent office so it might just seem louder due to that. Only issue is because the keyboard is aluminum, I'm constantly shocking myself when I sit at my desk. If you have a static prone home or office, maybe consider non-metal finishes...

It's all you really need.

After years of going from keyboard to keyboard going back to setting simple is nice. They keys are great and feel just clicky enough. The only cap lights are the various lock led, but the white text is readable in the light of an LCD. The reduced spacing threw me off at first but is easy to get used to. The open design makes it easy to clean. Overall a good and useful keyboard for the cost. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but you really don't need them.

Calculator Button Sucks, no Function key

Cherry KC 200 with MX2A Silent Red switches. Fantastic feel, good sound, very solid and minimal keyboard. There are two major detractors that I've found nearly immediately, with no other notes over 6 months. The following thoughtless design elements truly despoil what would be a perfect-for-the-price work/play keyboard. 1) There is no Function or multi-media keys. It's 2024 and this is an abysmal oversight. In the modern world, you truly miss these when they're not there. No media controls, except for + volume, - volume, and mute. 2) The Volume + key also happens to be immediately next to the absolutely useless CALCULATOR button, which is nothing but a shortcut that opens (you guessed it) the built in Calculator on a Windows computer. There is no way to reprogram or disable this button. If you're also constantly using the NUMPAD MINUS key for data entry, you will often find yourself constantly opening the calculator when you miss. If you're a gamer with numpad keybinds, you may often find yourself opening up a calculator mid-game, or with much older titles minimizing your game entirely because you opened the calculator app.

A Great Keyboard

This keyboard is well made. It has a good solid base with some weight to it. Not heavy. The switches are easy to depress, but not too easy. They offer some resistance. I like the feel. Switches are not noisy. Just the right amount of clickiness. I am used to typing on an Apple keyboard so this keyboard took some getting used to. Compared to the Apple keys, these keys are a bit too narrow. I have to type looking at the keys, so if I were a good typist it might not be a concern. This is a real good wired keyboard and priced well.

Quiet, clicky, solid, but slightly cramped mechanical keyboard

First off, this thing is fantastic to type on. I brought it in to the office and it is a huge improvement over the cheap keyboards our computers at work come with. In terms of tactile feedback, the keys have a satisfying click and a follow-through that usually makes it easy to tell when you are pressing a key. The keys also feel like they require less pressure to actuate than the cheap keyboards I mentioned before, as it is clear when you are pressing down and when you're just pressing on the key. Despite the clicky feel of the keys, the keyboard itself is relatively quiet, so my office mates are not forced to enjoy the clicky keyboard while I work. I haven't received any commentary on the keyboard being particularly noisy, not even from the coworker who is only happy if they have something to complain about. This keyboard does not require any special software to run, and does not offer much in the way of bells and whistles - which is handy for my office, where those thing would require additional hoops to jump through with our IT department. It's just plug and play via USB. Physically, the keyboard feels rock-solid and has a nice solid weight to it. The only downside for me is that the keyboard is a bit cramped, with the keys running right up to the edge of the keyboard. A few times I've accidentally leaned an elbow on the keyboard while looking at something on my screen and only noticed when I started entering a bunch of spaces into a document. A couple of times I've also accidentally bumped a few adjacent keys on the keyboard, like the backslash and the delete key, which are packed in very close. Overall, a great keyboard!
