Canon 054 Black Toner Cartridge High Yield 3028C001

I'm uneasy buying the knockoffs as I have had troubles with some of them in the past. Genuine Canon costs quite a bit more than those others but I have never been disappointed with Canon Cartridges, and they always work. Recycling was easy using their instructions, but I had to go to UPS and not to the normal Post Office as they said. Also, it's a bit cheesy that I have to print (using my new toner) my own shipping label. That should have been included by the company.

Bought this for my daughter as a spare so she would not run our of ink.

After adding cartridges the quality of the photos were very poor. Cartridges ran low earlier than normal and printed in very low quality.

I LOVE Canon laser printers and have used them for at least ten-years (I am on my second multi-function and third overall). They connect well (either wireless or wired connections), they print well, and have easily attainable replacement cartridges. So, why ONE STAR? Canon software support is TERRIBLE. My first multi-function was reliable and had years of life left in it, BUT,, I had to replace it as it no longer supported the then-current version of Windows OS. My current MF (MF642CDW) is smaller than my last MF (by design as my last was a pro-sumer version that was the size of small fridge). It prints well, but, has some sort of toner minder and replacement software that cannot be removed or turned off. This would be fine, if it actually communicated with the cartridge to determine amount of toner left in the cartridge, but, it does not, it uses a sheet print count that cannot be changed if you purchase CANON HIGH CAPACITY toner cartridges. What happens is that when the HIGH CAPACITY cartridges are at their half-life, the CANON nanny software scolds you every time that you print that your cartridge is nearly or completely out of toner and forces you to overide this message from the printer every time you send a print job. I have contacted CANON customer support numerous times, but, no one can help and they admit it is an issue. They cannot tell me how to turn this feature off, nor has anyone found a way to do it on CANON chat-boards. The HIGH CAPACITY cartridges are a great value, but, I cannot stand the aggravation of having to overide my printer each time I send a print job when the cartridge is at half-life as the counter is set for standard capacity cartridges only. It's funny, but, I use to only purchase CANON camera equipment and now use PANASONIC LUMIX as their camera line customer service and support became really bad. I am now questioning my loyalty to CANON laser printers for the same reason. It's a shame really, as they make great printers, but, the customer support and software is unreasonably bad.

I tried using generic cartridges, snd they just didn’t hold up. So I’m back to Canon for the quality. Even though I don’t print much anymore.
