best hd for money and use.

I bought this to attach to our Panasonic tv. It works well, was simple to set up and format. But, and it's a big but, it comes from the US. It should be clearly stated in the description that there is no UK power plug included. Also, the USB cable is very short, and has an unusual fitting. So I bought a much longer cable, and the power adaptor, before it arrived, because I'd read other reviews. The only other thing is that I can't seem to set up a series link - and I've checked everything! if you want to be able to set up a series link, rather than just record one offs, you'll need a more sophisticated box, eg Humax Aura. You can set up to record a later programme, or one on a different day, just no series link. Maybe somebody might write an app? beyond my ken!

Good drive but contrary to other reviews I can't get it to work with Bell 6500 receiver. I receive error 658 after plugging it into the receiver. Receiver reports that it is an unsupported drive. Why??? It meets all of the Bell required specs. Questions: 1). Do I have to format the drive? 2) I reset the drive to factory defaults. Still same error. 3. Should I connect the drive with the receiver power off and then turn on the receiver? Any help would be most appreciated as this is quite frustrating.

Buffalo seems to be the only company that makes a 7200 rpm external hard drive that is compatible with Bell satellite receivers (Besides Fantom Drives, which are to be avoided at all costs… had 2 that only lasted 3 months each). My first Buffalo hard drive was a 1 TB unit that worked for 3 years. I now have the 2 TB version so I can record more. Perfect for recording shows & sporting events.
