Great compact design

i may be experiencing some of the charging slowness described in other reviews when there are multiple USBs being used to charge devices. Other than that, I love this thing. It’s on my desk and keeps cords organized and accessible without taking up too much space! Looks better than ordinary power strips too.

While high priced, this charging station is well designed for public spaces. My biggest concern was that the charging cables locked in the base could be pulled out of their sockets, and require disassembly to plug back in. I didn't notice this addressed in the details, but imagined something must have been devised to account for this. It was! The ports in the base can be pulled forward until the end of the USB plug is flush against the inside wall (cable trap/route, as it may be called), thus preventing the connector from being disconnected. In my tests, I was unable to dislodge a cable with the base attached. Extra low-profile connectors may be an issue as the ports do not pull all the way forward. I find this unlikely, however, as they would have to be specialty cables. And if this was the case, a filled material could be added to the extra space. When assembled, the push tabs to open the cube are discrete and unlikely to be found by someone unfamiliar with the cube. Uninformed, I would assume the base needs to be detached from the table/other surface in order to remove the cables. The plastics feel sturdy, and the power cable is a heavy gauge, similar to that of name brand computer power supplies. If this cube matches the aesthetics and has the right features for your installation, I would not hesitate to recommend it, budget dependent. Another high quality product from Belkin! I've been buying Belkins products for years, and I'd always trust their brand. So, when I was offered this for review, I was excited with the prospect. So, unlike I would have done with other electronic brands, I ordered it without any research first. And later, as I usually do when acquiring a Belkin product, I went to their manufacturer's website to find more information. I was looking information about the surge protection capabilities of this charging station. Something I should had done in the first place. Well, I had to dig a little to find such information, but I'm grateful that Belkin provided it in their 'Belkin BOOST CHARGE 8-Port Charging Station (USB/AC), B2B167 Frequently Asked Questions' page. On that page, among other information, Belkin states clearly that the Belkin Boost Charge 8-Port Charging Station B2B167, does not have/support power surge capabilities. It surprised me that Belkin didn't integrated a circuit breaker for voltage spikes into a charging station. So, my only option other than never use this Belkin charging station, it's to daisy-chain it to a power strip with surge suppression circuits. I don't like to daisy-chain, but if one wants some power surge protection for any device connected to this charging station, so daisy-chain it is. This charging station looks like it's well-made from strong plastic. And it provides four ( 1.2 A) USB charging ports (no fast charging) but a convenient cable locks feature, which would prevent cable loss, or just become an useful way to organize such cables. I plugged 6' feet cables of different colors and connectors ends into it, so we can have a charging cable available for all of our devices. It also comes with four 120 VAC charging ports, built-in a way that facilitates its use, when set in the middle of a table to connect devices set all around such table. And so far, it's working well. In conclusion, I would recommend this, as long as one also connects it to a power strip with surge suppression capabilities.

Maximize your work potential with the Belkin 8 port charging station, although Belkin touts this station as perfect for public use.... it is also perfect for my work situation at home. Yes this is just what I needed as my outlets are overloaded & I need as many USB ports as I can get.... Thanks to Belkin's Charging block my workstation is now less cluttered & more organized..... which will help to facilitate my productivity. The Belkin Cube is a great design, it is very well made & sturdy.... the bottom of the station is rubberized to give it enhanced purchase & stability....the bottom easily pops off to access 3 USB ports & then secures the connections making it impossible to accidently unplug them. This charging/port station's power cord is heavy duty, 120V 3 prong & 6 foot long.... exactly what is required for a device of this nature. The Borg, I mean cube.... I mean Belkin station is all business in both form & function..... it's no nonsense appearance lets you know there is no funny business going on with this charging/power station....it is what it is & does not pretend to be anything other than a power/charging station....it is purpose oriented to assimilate, I mean assist you by providing the most power & USB ports possible while taking up the least amount of space possible while integrating itself into the office environment so seamlessly that it's angular form hides itself in plain sight. The Belkin 8 port station has one prime directive, & that is to empower you by providing more power to your workspace...… it lives to serve & serves to live. 5 Stars - Quality Product Recommendation
