Atdec TH-WH-PJ-CM Projector Ceiling Mount

I used this mount for a Panasonic PT-EZ770 projector. Yes, a 24-pound projector measuring 18"x21". This is a big projector, too large for the supplied mounts to reach. I overcame the problem by purchasing stock 1" aluminum angles and creating a frame to which I mounted the projector, along with cross-pieces that mounted directly to the flange connecting to the mount--the arms were not needed. If you try to do this, just make certain to use heavy stock paper to make a pattern first. Assemble the aluminum frame with at least four sides and two cross members (to mount to the flange). Use washers and nylon lock nuts on 1/4" screws to assemble the frame. Finally, I also inserted a large U-bolt through the bottom hole of the pole, connecting the plate under the flange. Since the projector hangs suspended above the center aisle of the church sanctuary, I would not want the small clip to come loose, dropping this projector on someone's head! The added safety measure is worth it, and even looks as if it were intended (since the U-bolt fits so perfectly!). Good, heavy, and well built mount, overall. The small ring around the flange holding the projector to the pole is the Achilles heel, though.

I used this mount with an Epson 5040UB projector. The mount itself is very sturdy and I'm very comfortable with it and this particular projector which is quite heavy. As others have noted I had to cut the lower male tube to get exactly the distance down from the ceiling that I wanted, but that was 5 minutes with a hacksaw. A couple of other very minor things that I would deduct a 1/2 point for if I could: A) I had to improvise slightly to get the cables to fit between the topmost male tube and the top plate (to insert them down inside the tube). The bottom male tube has an exit for your cables - but strangely, the top tube does not. When you follow the directions and use all 3 bolts to secure the top tube to the plate, the gap is not wide enough (when mounted vertically from the ceiling) to fit a power and HDMI cable through. I solved this by mounting it with only 2 bolts, down about 3/4", and thus some gap for the cables. If they just cut a matching hole in the top tube, that would not be required. Since all other tubes were secured with only two bolts, I felt safe that it was plenty secure to mount this way. Note - if you are mounting on a ceiling at an angle, this may not be a problem at all for you. B) My (English) instructions were blank on the inside of one page. I had to search online for the manual and print that missing page. C) I had to cross my fingers and take a chance this would fit my projector. They could provide a better description of the possible mount radius of the arms as other Amazon listings do. I was able to mount the 5040UB using an offset but symmetrical approach, but any further apart and I think it may not have fit well. The 5040UB is a very large projector, so others may not have this issue. I wanted to post this because I did a lot of research trying to find a robust mount for the 5040UB, and in case anyone else has this projector - and don't mind working around the issues above - it is a good buy. It is very strong and well made - recommended.

sturdy and reliable! Easy to put together and install. Took less than an 45min for assembly and install and the best part is that my subwoofers cranked don't even cause a vibration in the image as the mount is solid!!
