As noted by other reviewers the Asus is a bit flimsy/delicate.But it does a good job of loading my cd's to Windows Media Player Legacy, then desktop to SanDisk.The price was right.Handle the unit carefully & support it on a solid base & it should be fine.

Perfect. Does everything I need for transferring my massive collection of music CDs to digital files in my PC. Then I can transfer whatever I need from there to my phone for workout music or whatever. You can't go wrong with this external CD drive.

Asus is a good brand that I go to regularly for electronics. Set up was quick and easy with a USB-C plug connecting to my laptop. It read and played my 20 year old CDs with photos and music on them. It can even do backups if you need that process. It is light and easily fits into my travel bag. 10/12/2023 Update: The question was asked if this item was compatible with Windows 13. There is no Windows 13 at this point. There isn't even a Windows 12 yet.

This external drive is awesome! It reads all of my old disks, some of them 15+ years old. I had previously bought a cheaper drive that gave me a lot of errors with older disks, this one reads everything I throw at it. You may save a couple of bucks on a cheap no-name drive but it is not worth it. The error correction on this Asus is amazing, highly recommended!
