ASUS XG-C100C 10G Network Adapter Pci-E X4 Card with Single RJ-45 Port

I needed a 10gbps network card as my ISP offers 8gbps down. I browsed this one and thought it might be too good to improve, so I went for one that was double the price. Well, that card never gave me above 3.1 gbps. As soon as I got the Asus installed, bam, full 8.2 gbps up and down, consistently too, I haven't noticed any speed fluxes even during peak hours.

I got this to add 10gig support to my TrueNAS server. It is natively supported by Scale and works perfectly. No extra drivers or work needed. I'm running it with CAT6 cables and all get full throughput. Easily recommended.

bought 2 of these, one for my main workstation PC and the other as a secondary nic in my NAS. Rest of my network is 1GbE which is fine, but needed a faster connection locally to my file server. My NAS box is running TrueNAS Scale which can be temperamental about nics, but detected immediately and easy to set up with it's own IP. The other end went into an Win11 box and also detected right away. Hooked up some Cat8 between them and have been able to get speeds close to the 10Gbs speed (limited by the NAS disks at this point. Definitely recommend if you need some one-off faster connections but aren't ready to spring for upgrading an entire home network

The drivers and firmware on their website specifically state that those versions will not work for the v2 option. So before you go through what I did and return a working NIC because ASUS first-line support was not helpful, do some homework and/or check with ASUS about their v2 versions of this card. In order to call it v2, something had to change. What? I can't find anything so far. The card works, is recognized by the switch and Windows 10-64 computer as 10G, however I haven't yet tested the speed, but am hopeful that ASUS will get their business in order as they are otherwise a decent manufacturer. Waiting on their customer support to contact me about this...
